We recently stayed at the Hotel Indigo in St. Petersburg and were very disappointed with our experience. When we visit family in FL, my husband and I take a getaway night. We have stayed at the property in Sarasota and had great experiences each time. This time we decided to mix it up and go to St. Petersburg, and we will NEVER do this again based on our experience.
The front desk staff was not very welcoming or friendly and also seemed fairly unsure when we asked some basic questions, needed to refer to a manager. When we returned after dinner, the agent on duty did not even look up from her phone to greet us as we walked by on the way to the elevator.
Our room was very small and had not been cleaned properly, the toilet still had cleanser on it. The sink had virtually no vanity space which was difficult to makeup, toothbrushes, etc in the bathroom, compounded because there was maybe a foot between the toilet and the sink. The shower head was twisted in a way that caused water to spill our on the bathroom floor when turned on, luckily we could readjust it. The pillows were awful, the bad not very comfortable.
The final straw happened when we checked out and went to get our car from the valet and were told that they did not have our keys. They initially tried to blame us that we had not left the keys with the valet, then were told that if we had checked in late, the keys would have gone to the front desk - we checked in mid-afternoon. The valet manager was called in who then called the valet who had been on duty when we checked in and had to leave a message. He also called in another manager from another property (maybe an area manager?). They finally went back to the car and found the keys inside in the console - and the car had been UNLOCKED ALL NIGHT and parked on the street! All of this took about 1/2 an hour and made us late getting back to get ready for a family event. We received some not very heartfelt apologies, and the manager asked for our paid bill to credit us back for the parking fee, then never came back to confirm that it had been done - when we asked what the deal was, we were told not to worry and should see the credit back on our card soon.
Altogether not much of a relaxing getaway and very disappointing to us who have been big fans of the brand.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sanchez444 too old, too small, outdated
This hotel Indigo is not up to par with the other branded hotel Indigo hotels I have stayed at in the U.S. Outdated and too small. Great location though and since we only used the room to sleep at night, it was okay for our vacation as we walked downtown or traveled to Tampa during the day.
