Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills

Energizing a countryside.

Close to local attractions and businesses, the Hotel Indigo® Chicago Vernon Hills hotel is perfect for any trip, business or pleasure. To put it plainly, our rooms are “huge,” each with its own sitting area, and our staff is passionate about providing each and every guest with personalized service. The nearby Cuneo Mansion and Gardens serve as inspiration for our hotel’s artwork, and the whole space evokes an upscale feel, with a front desk that occupies a two-story lobby: expansive, but not at all unwelcoming.  The indoor heated pool is relaxing, and our martini bar serves up 25 special versions of the cocktail.

      Neighborhoods

      Explore our Neighborhood.

Halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee lies a tranquil community far removed—but not so far away—from the busy streets of the Windy City. In the early 1900s, Vernon Hills became the neighborhood where Chicago’s wealthy industry barons built their country estates, like Edison’s right-hand man, Samuel Insull, who spent his time here when he wasn’t wiring electricity to the greater Chicago area. Here, forests, open fields and roads lined with fountains celebrate the beauty of the old Midwest. Italianate architecture and lush prairie gardens exemplify the elegance that defines this affluent commuter burb, and landmarks like the Cuneo Mansion are a stirring monument to the great opulence, influence, innovation and cultural energy that still flow throughout this timeless neighborhood escape.

      Cuneo Mansion & Gardens

Home to the family collection of fine art and furnishings, this beautiful 100-acre estate and its Italianate-style home were completed in 1918 for the founder of General Electric. In 1938, it was bought by its namesake, the Cuneo family, and in 2009 it was donated to Loyola University in Chicago. The $50 million gift is one of the largest in Loyola's history.

      • Lake Forest and Vernon Hills are great areas for business travelers. There is an abundance of shopping and great restaurants. Proximity to I-94 is great, but not too close that you can hear it from your room.

      • Had a great nights stay. Loved the options of the pillows. Couch in living area large and comfortable to recline on. Like having glass glasses to use instead of plastic. Coffee was good in the morning. The staff was very welcoming on our arrival. Very easy to set a morning wake up call. Wake up call came at the appropriate time.
