My experience at this Holiday Inn was excellent. The staff were friendly, patient and very accommodating. In fact they went out of their way to help us in any way they could. Our room was clean and comfortable. The proximity of this Hotel to the London Underground made access to downtown very easy. Also the proximity to a supermarket was convenient and a pub next door offered the opportunity to experience a quintessential English phenomena. Pub Food. I'm certain that when I return to London, I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Collier Woods. For the price there is no other alternative that provided the value and facility to experience London in all its splendor.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Jessica74 Excellent customer service, clean and well run with pleasant staff.
This was our second stay and we will definitely be back, It is just across the road from Colliers Wood tube station and there are frequent buses to Wimbledon and Kingston. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and a good breakfast is provided at no extra charge. I found the staff polite, helpful and efficient and we were able to leave our cases after we checked out. A very enjoyable stay.

Now, I don't want to be mistaken, here. There is nothing wrong with this hotel; it's basic but very comfortable. But the 2 previous Holiday Inn stays were Chicago and Washington DC. In both hotels (also Expresses!) I was welcomed and thanked as a Platinum 'member', I was upgraded to a suite and treated like royalty by every member of staff I encountered. In the UK, I didn't even get free Wifi because that doesn't get introduced until June or July. In the USA I insist on Holiday Inn, in UK, it's just convenient to get more points on my account, because there seems to be no other incentive.

The location is great. Room was small but comfortable. Lacked amenities that are offered in the United States such has free wi-fi for Platinum members.

room was new, clean, tidy - no problems
no problems with bed - got a good night sleep
no problems with customer service
Two points to look into
breakfast - juice and fruit were fine.beans were fine. no bacon - boo. What on earth do they do to the sausage? This is easily resolvable so HIE must try harder.
By definition, business travellers MUST be online and we do not expect to have to pay. We demand FREE wi-fi (as provided by other hotel chains - and probably included in the price).
This will make a significant problem to future bookings with HIE.

Good location as it is opposite the tube. Newly refurbished with modern bathroom and good shower. Good to have breakfast included but choice a little limited. Bed comfort was a little disappointing.

Near to underground station, excellent starting point to visit central London. Friendly staff. Big supermarket in close area and great park beside the hotel.

I cannot imagine a better way to visit London than to use Holiday Inn at Wimbledon South. Across the road from Coliers Wood tube station and about 15 mins to almost anywhere in the centre the location is ideal. If you do not have a fortune to spend on central London hotels and especially if you want to come by car from far away the secure hotel car park makes this is a great location. There is a pleasant park for a stroll for some fresh air and even a major supermarket chain within a few minutes walk.
What about the hotel then?
Most Holiday Inns are quite sufficient in terms of facilities and here is no exception. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable with everything you need from a great shower area (with efficient plumbing that works!) to good size toilet and hand basin. Very good beds (and I am fussy!) choice of pillow softness and even enough room for our two children when we are travelling with them.
The outstanding factor at this particular hotel is the management and staff. Totally organised and very kind and helpful they became our friends in moments. The manager even spent time with me talking about how he wanted to make some aspects even better and was keen to listen to my opinions - not that there was much to improve!
If you are not super rich this is a perfect location for a London Stay - forget the cliches about chain hotels, this one is personal and great value.
