i was in room 406 there was hard blood on the the toilet handel ther was big white stains on the bass of the bed the toliet sink was block big black mark on carpet next to right hand side of the bed left hand window sticking cant open it

There is no doubt the staff at this hotel make it what it is. They are friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. You are made to feel welcome. You are also made to feel important and not 'just another guest'. The hotel itself is clean and very comfortable. I will certainly be back!

Enjoyed our stay once again.
Unfortunately the service at dinner was very slow and muddled. It took ages to complete the meal service. There di not seem to be any one in charge. The quality of the food was fair.
However we would book again soon.

We have stayed at the hotel on several occasions, most recently last week, and wish to thank ALL the staff for the excellent standard of service provided.
A special mention to George who makes a real effort to welcome everyone at breakfast.
My husband celebrated his birthday whilst we were staying and it was a lovely surprise to find this was acknowledged by the Hotel.

A very enjoyable stay. Location ideal with plenty of parking, nice quiet room and pleasant staff throughout. Breakfast selection, hot and cold very good but the coffee was luke warm and undrinkable. All credit to the breakfast staff who addressed this particular problem with alternative drinks.
Would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting York.

We stayed one night at this hotel last weekend and also had the evening meal. The room was spacious and comfortable and the food was excellent. We were able to leave our car before lunch on the day of arrival and the staff could not have been more helpful. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Booked an Executive room for a nice weekend away with my wife. The room was as small as other standard rooms with not even an armchair to relax in. Bathroom was so small you couldn't swing a cat in it. Very disappointing. Food was good and staff very polite. If you're planning a special weekend in York, don't book the Executive rooms here.

The food delivered by room service was worse than bog standard and I would have expected better food during a hospital stay. I had cheese and biscuits for dessert and I have the feeling that by appearance they had been already served to another guest and then salvaged off the plate on arrival back to the kitchen. None of the food was appetising and I left most of it, resulting to going to bed hungry. The breakfast was not much better with groggy looking fruit on offer, I then had a croissant which was stale and dry.
In comparison I stayed at Leeds Garforth Holiday Inn the following night and the food was fantastic, both served by room service and at breakfast.
It is a shame because the staff were faultless and the room was also very good.
