Kazakhstan’s tourism industry is still in its infancy, but those brave enough to traverse the path less traveled will be greatly rewarded.
Sauna Complexes (or Banyas) are one of the most popular forms of entertainment among the locals. You’ll find a plethora of Banyas to choose from: from very upscale, marble clad private rooms, to more public and open shared spaces.
History buffs will find many interesting sites in Kazakhstan as well. In the city of Astana is the Alzhir Memorial Museum of Victims of Political Repressions and Totalitarianism, which memorializes the somber events that occurred during the Soviet’s rule.
Kazakhstan’s cities are also filled with gleaming modern architecture. The Zhastar Palace is meant to serve the public and daily hosts more than 1000 children participating in various creative activities.
If visitors can put aside what they think they know of Kazakhstan from Hollywood movies, they would be surprised at the wonder they find in this country.
