A sense of heritage and authenticity in the heart of the city. Located in a newly renovated palace dating from the latter 18th century and overlooking the imposing Avenida dos Aliados, the hotel is walking distance from all major cultural highlights such as the Bolhao Market, Ribeira District or the Clerigos Tower. The Palacio das Cardosas is the ideal place to experience Porto's true essence.
Located in the upscale residential and business area of Porto, Crowne Plaza Porto is ideally positioned between the sea and city centre. The 232 rooms are decorated elegantly and harmonious and induce the feeling of tranquility and well-being. Experience a great sea view from our top floors.

Waking up on a top floor room with a breathtaking view over the Douro river and the city of Porto, sounds good? All this is possible at the Holiday Inn Porto Gaia. The hotel is only a short distance from the worldwide famous Port Wine Cellars and the historical city center of Porto.
Since opening, the Holiday Inn Express Porto Exponor has been the solution for people traveling on business and leisure due to its location-practically opposite the Exponor Congress and Fair Exhibition Centre and very close to Porto Airport, Marshopping (IKEA) and Norteshopping, the sea Port, the Equestrian Center Matosinhos, Leca da Palmeira beaches and the historical centre of Porto!
This was our first visit to Porto, we are so pleased we chose this hotel, the location was brilliant for walking to most of the main attractions, the hotel is very elegant and all the staff are[More]
friendly and charming and very professional, anything we asked for was done immediately. The hotel was like walking into a cool sanctuary after the buzz of the streets and riverside of Porto. The weather was very hot when we were there in June so the air conditioning was very welcome in our hotel room. We would not hesitate to stay at the Palacio Das Cardosas again. [Less]
conceiege was very helpful in setting up our night at the club. Also the check in staff was very professional.[Less]
Weekend get away.
Lovely hotel, front desk staff were charming and attentive, great location, we would definitely stay again.[Less]
When making this reservation, we were apprehensive about the location as we'd always stayed in Porto proper in the past. Though this location is somewhat inconvenient to metro stops (and by that, I[More]
mean a 15-minute walk, so by European standards it's fine), we had an excellent experience here!
We were greeted at check in by name, and promptly given our room keys an an overview of the property.
The rooms are spacious and clean, and we were able to get a great view out over Gaia, Porto, and the Douro River. We purchased some port wine, but realized we had no corkscrew, and the front desk sent one up right away.
Almost two days later, when sitting down for a meal, one of the front desk managers remembered us by name and asked how our stay was going. That level of guest engagement is extremely rare these days, in my experience.
The bar has a nice modern look and a great selection; great way to kill time.
Lastly, I cannot say enough good words about the restaurant. I enjoyed one of the best steaks of my life there. It was cooked right in front of me in a flaming pan skillet, and smothered in Serra cheese. Paired with some of their excellent ports, it really made for a memorable dining experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great steak.
Overall, we had an excellent experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future! [Less]
Our Porto stay
It's funny that the survey asks if we were able to relax, because our three days in Porto were so hectic that the only time we could relax was in the hotel!

The staff was excellent although we had one minor complaint the management was very willing to compensate us for something we weren't fully explained at check in.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Porto Gaia. [Less]
