Stay in either of IHG’s two Kuala Lumpur hotels and you will be ideally placed to explore the delights of this fascinating city. With its early roots as a tin mining shanty town, it’s hard to believe that Kuala Lumpur is now a marvellous metropolis. The influence of the city’s financial successes can be seen on the skyline, which is punctuated by some of the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia, including the infamous 88 storey Petronas Twin Towers.
Kuala Lumpur embodies everything you might expect from an Asian super-city. Featuring all of the dynamism of a modern capital, you’ll find state of the art shopping malls, buzzing nightlife, elegant restaurants and cafes on just about every street corner. Art galleries and museums like the Islamic Arts Museum and the National Museum are sure to satisfy culture fans. Entertainment facilities include Genting Highlands, Cosmo’s World and Legoland all prove popular with fun seeking families.
However, there is so much more to see and do if you want to absorb an authentic Malaysian experience. Snacking on diverse and tasty street food at a hawker stall, trawling the vast Central Market or quirky Bazaar Baru Market, or taking a tour of the atmospheric Guandi Temple or historic Masjid Jamek mosque are just a few wonderful ways to wile away the hours.
Away from the city centre the 92 hectare Lake Garden Parks is just yards from the main train station and features pristine parkland and lush tropical jungle, as well as a walk-in aviary in the Bird Park. The Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is home to an array of wildlife, flora and fauna and also boasts the highest view of the city skyscrapers accessible from the viewing deck of the 421m tall Menara tower. If you are a little weary from wandering the nature trails, you can even dine or take tea in the tower’s revolving restaurant.
When searching for hotels in Kuala Lumpur, look no further than an IHG property, where you’ll find the perfect rooms for restoring your energy reserves as you explore this stimulating city. Book your stay with IHG today and enjoy quality accommodation at a great price.

This is how I exactly felt every time I walked into the Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur lobby: “WELCOME”
The Intercontinental chain is known for its hospitality and the standards they maintain on how[More]
their staff treat the guests, but this was beyond my expectations. I had never been so well-treated at any 5-star hotel. Not even at the other Intercontinental hotels where I stayed. I was always greeted with a “Welcome Home” when entering the hotel and that was not all. The reception desk, the concierge, the bell hops, the restaurant staff… were all just perfect. Everywhere you turn someone is waiting to surprise you with a smile.
The rooms and other hotel areas are very clean and well-maintained except for very minute instances which are inevitable at any high-end 5-star hotel and absolutely overlookable.
The bed was fantastic and since we were on the 22nd floor the room was very quiet; however, I don’t think the rooms on lower floors would be any different regarding that criteria. The rooms are decorated in a decent manner and the 40 inch LED has nice channels on (News, Sports, entertainment, as well as local channels). The free Wi-Fi was faster than I expected and was available all over the hotel. Bathroom amenities were also of good quality.
The pool was very good, but the Jacuzzi was under repair during our whole stay which was really a shame as I was looking forward to relaxing in it after the long walks around KL. The 24-hour gym equipment was pretty basic for an Intercontinental, but I managed to have my workouts there when I had time and it was not too bad. Like all other hotel staff, the guy supervising the gym was very nice and helpful.
The only minor downside I could think of is the buffet breakfast. Although the food quality was very good, the buffet wasn’t as expanded as I thought it would be and most dishes were the same all the way through my one week stay. Nonetheless, considering the great deal I got on the room it was good enough for the price paid.
All in all, I’m very pleased with my stay and it was worth every penny spent. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants just more than a bed and bathroom from a hotel, anyone who expects smiling faces and top notch 5-star quality treatment. [Less]
