All located less than 2 miles from the historic city centre; our Gloucester hotels offer easy access to the city and surrounding areas, making them ideal for business and leisure visitors.
Situated in the South West of England to the North of Bristol and not too far from the Welsh border, Gloucester is said to have been founded as far as back as AD 97 by the Romans. It is easily accessible directly by train from Cardiff and London amongst others and is a mere 45 minutes from Birmingham International Airport.
Gloucester is awash with history and its range of landmarks includes the stunning Gloucester Cathedral, which was used in part in some of the Harry Potter films, the New Inn public house, which dates back to the 15th Century and was where Lady Jane Grey’s accession to the throne was announced and Gloucester Docks. The docks are home to the Waterways Museum and are the historical link from the city to the river Severn.
Tourists will not be disappointed as the city boasts a wide range of attractions. One of the most popular attractions is the Gloucester Folk Museum, where you can visit the Victorian classroom or see how domestic life has changed over the last 500 years. Just outside of the city, the beautiful Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean can be found within half an hour’s drive.
If you’re looking for a great shopping location, look no further than Gloucester Quay with its huge array of designer outlets as well as plenty of places to grab a bite to eat whilst you recharge your batteries. Nearby Cheltenham has a range of boutiques that are a great way to spend the day too. Sports fans will be able to enjoy a great day out at Gloucester RUFC or Cheltenham Racecourse.
