Priority Club Platinum. Having said that this property does very little to recognize it.. They have NO Priority Club lounge and while they have a full service bar they serve no happy hour freebies or anything.
This property has a 3 star rating in Yelp and I certainly agree with that... the restaurant got a terrible rating and I agree with that too; if you expect to get something healthy to eat here don't count on it.
My room on 12th floor was ok, bed was ok and comfortable; I did have a fridge :) Was there for 4 nights out of which 2 room service did not give me new soap or shampoo.
There is not much around this property so keep that in mind if you have no car; they do provide a free shuttle to airport and King street where all the tourist restaurants are. Overall a 3 star stay have had much better but also much worse...

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Thillz staff and service
We were traveling as a family and asked for a room with two beds. The staff rushed me off the phone and wasn't concerned about my request or attempting to consider my family's needs. When I arrived my family of four was placed in a King room but promised a roll away that never came. Although the staff attempted to get us in an appropriate room the following day, promising to have our bags moved the next morning, we returned to the hotel to the same room with our luggage still in the room. After much frustration, my husband was able to get us moved to a room that accommodated our family. Unfortunately, there is not much that can make customers feel better once these factors come into play. We have stayed with crowne plaza hotels many times and this was the absolute worst experience that I have ever had with such a reputable hotel chain.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Average, at best
I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Old Town Alexandria while I was in town for training. Overall, I would say the hotel was at best, average.
My experience started poorly on Monday when I checked in. The gentleman at the front desk was not welcoming or helpful. My package included internet and breakfast, which he did not explain or go over with me. I got up to my room and was greeted by a very gross, musty smell. I went back down to the front desk to see if the woman working at the front desk was available. I had overheard her talking to another customer and she seemed friendly and helpful. I was able to talk to her and she explained that the internet would not be billed and provided me with my breakfast tickets.
That night the musty smell got worse. It seemed it got worse when the fan kicked on, so I actually turned the heating/cooling off my first night, which was cold, but at least not as smelly. The next morning I was greeted by a shower drain that did not drain.
I let the front desk staff know that the musty smell was still there and also about the shower drain – neither of which were addressed during my stay!
On the positive side, breakfast was good. There were a variety of options and it seemed like they kept things fresh and the breakfast area as kept clean. The service I received from the front desk staff, shuttle drivers, and wait staff was great (minus my initial check-in). The shuttle was very convenient to and from the airport; however, I was able to use the shuttle to King Street during my stay so I walked the 10 or so blocks.
Overall, this hotel is average. My room had worn carpet and fixtures, was clean, but just felt outdated and dirty. That topped with a musty smell and a backed up shower drain made for a long 4 day visit.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Richie100 Great location when working in DC area
I stay at this property on a regular basis and have been very pleased. My latest visit on 3-12-13 was a bit below the norm:
I waited an extended time at check in because they did not have a dedicated line for Priorty Club Members.
When I arrived at my assigned room at 430pm, it was not ready. I had to stand in the hallway for 20 minutes while the room was serviced. That delay caused me to be late for a dinner appointment.
I hope this was an isolated occurance and not the start of a pattern of weak service.

Best view ever!
Exhausted from traveling and a long day of conference sessions, the view became the just the respite I needed.
Shuttle service was reliable and professional both to Old Town Alexandria and Reagan airport.
Staff were friendly, professional and thorough. Even called to make sure I received my requested receipt copy.
I'm already looking for excuses to stay there again!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NoMoreGuest1 This place dishonors military guests
This hotel offers a military/federal government rate, but does not honor the terms and needs of military/federal guests. One of the key needs and considerations in the willingess of a hotel to offer a federally recognized GSA lodging rate is understanding often times travel plans of the government official are changed at the last moment. So other than perhaps charging for the first night stay if the reservation is cancelled after 6PM, this hotel actually forced a pre-pay on a government rate, and charged an additional 4 nights even though I had to leave after the first nights stay. This approach not only soaks the taxpayer for a service not rendered, but it also places an undue financial hardship, as its not likely that individual traveler will be reimbursed for nights not stayed, through no fault of the traveler. It doesn't matter if the hotel is forcing mandatory pre-payments and no cancellation policies for special events. They should simply not offer a government rate, if they are not going to guarantee the normal cancellation needs of government travlers.

Unfortuately it was not a great experience. When checking in, I asked the staff to remove the breakfast charge from the bill that although I had paid for breakfast for 2 we would not be able to have breakfast since we were leaving very early in the morning to march in the inaugural parade. She said we could speak to the manager in the morning, but that morning we were running late, nervous about traffic in an unfamiliar area and worried about catching the bus that was going to transport our group from McClean,Va to the pentagon, so we did not have time to wait to speak to a manager.
Even worse, when I removed the decorative pillow from the bed that night, there was a bug underneath it! We had come back from a late dinner,we were tired and I had a service dog with me,so it would have been very inconvenient to ask for a different room. We did a visual inspection and found no other insects,so we hoped for the best
I would ask that you please refund the money that we paid for breakfast that we were unable to eat.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

This hotel is a good value for the money and if you choose the river view you get a nice view of the Potomac. Stay on the upper floors to get the views. Although it's a few blocks away from the center of activity in Alexandria it's close enough to walk if you don't have a physical problem. The hotel also provides a shuttle to King St. if you don't want to walk.
The breakfast buffet is a great value at only $15 if you're not expecting anything fancy and you're OK with the basics such as scrabbled eggs, breakfast meats, cereals, fruits etc...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by lkat Understaffed, Mismanaged and a comedy of errors
I made a reservation for New Years Eve a week in advance. I specifically asked for two adjoining rooms and gave my credit card number to book them. The person I spoke with on the phone assured me (after I double checked before getting off the phone) that I would had booked two adjoining rooms--each room would have 2 double beds and a door in the room that led to the other.
Then, I happened to be in Old Town Thursday Dec. 27th and stopped by the hotel to confirm in person that we had adjoining rooms with two double beds in each. The two women at the front desk said that someone had unblocked the rooms (?) Apologized, but said that we now had two rooms across the hall from each other. Luckily, they were able to find two adjoining rooms but on had a king and the other had two double beds. I said that was not ideal but would be okay. They promised me they would hold these rooms for me.
On New Year's Eve, I called at 5pm to let them know that we would be arriving around 7:00pm but to please hold our rooms. The women I spoke with promised me they would.
Arrived at 7pm, with 3 adults and 4 restless kids, eager to check in and head to Old Town Alexandria's "first night" festivities. Was told at the front desk that our rooms had been given to someone else. We waited 30-40 minutes before they found two adjoining rooms. We were in there 5 minutes before someone flushed the toilet and it started overflowing with no way to shut it off. An inch of water filled the entire bathroom before my friend was able to stop it temporarily and had to flag a maintenance man down in the hall and beg him to come fix it.
Otherwise it was a great night....ha ha ha. The front staff said they was no manager on duty (ON NYEVE?!) and they were terribly understaffed.

Kona coffee in the dining room was Excellent. The wait staff were helpful and accommodating of diners' requests.
This hotel has rooms with expansive views. The upper floors are romantic, beautiful, inspiring; I had a restful night sleep in my room overlooking the Potomac, and the view of the Wilson Bridge and incoming planes were a good accompaniment for writing. Lower floors may be better for light sleepers who don't carry ear plugs.
This hotel is on the Mount Vernon bike path #US bike route 1#. There were rental bikes available when I stayed. There is also a bike shop across the street.
Also within a few blocks are a tennis court, several inexpensive cafes, a Giant grocery store.
The decor features neurtral tones with bold splashes of color. The furniture was functional - the rolling table desk allowed me to pull over to the window and enjoy the view. I'm highly sensitive to new carpet odors, and smoke, and I was not bothered by any noxious smells.
If you're taking the Metro arriving late night, I suggest getting off at King Street Metro or National Airport, and calling for the shuttle to pick you up at one of those stops on the Yellow and Blue lines.

I do not recommend this property, unfortunately. We booked two river view rooms (extra charge), and only one had a view of the river, if you looked over the parking lot. The other room had no view at all.
Room service was terrible - they didn't put the order in the first time, and so the order came up nearly 2 hours after it was placed. No reduction in fee was offered.
The outlets in the room did not work, which was a bummer for wanting to charge cell phones at night.
The bed was comfortable and the location was close to DCA. For the money and expectations I had though, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Our stay at the Crowne Plaza was wonderful. The beds were comfy, and the room was super clean. Front desk help was efficient, and the restaurant staff pleasant, even in a busy situation.
I was there for a conference, and I'll be happy to return next year.

I was checked into a dirty room which the sheets was not clean and when i informed the front desk agent he informed me I had to come down and get the keys nobody was there with him but when I went back down to the lobby the security staff was sitting over at the concierge desk. The power went out several times and the carpert was very stained thru out the room. The second room had ants in the bathroom and we saw a couple in the second bed !!!!! We asked for the GM to call and have not received a call as of yet.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Traveler1357 Was this really a Crowne Plaza
Booked this hotel due to a conference that was being held there. I arrived to an empty lobby. No one behind the desk for over 20 min. Ringing bells, shouting, called customer service and they couldn't help me, almost left. Finally staff comes down from upstairs, but was unapologetic.
Everything in this hotel was dated.
Bathroom had cracked floor tiles and grout joints. The toilet was the only small toliet I have seen in a hotel room in 10 years, probably from the 50's.
I will not stay at this hotel again.
