We stay at this location every year for a family gathering during Easter. The location and the staff are usually what brings us back. We enjoyed our stay and the family time spent. Only a little upkeep would make the stay more enjoyable. Seriously - please do a little update! The breakfast could use un update as well, the cinnamon rolls are always hard, the variety has lost its lack luster. The pancake machine was broken each morning we were there.
The rooms had several different shades of paint that had been used for touch up - why not close the room for a few days and paint the ENTIRE room? Also, the carpet could use a cleaning - the smell was pretty bad. The shower needed a good looking after as well as the tile - broke pieces everywhere! My youngest son cut the bottom of his foot on broken grout and tile. Re-grout the tile floor and replace the broken tiles. I understand this location is busy due to the location near the air base. Please work on a room and then move on to the next.
Thank you for this opportunity to express our concerns. We look forward to our stay next year and hope that a few changes have been made.

For Altus, this was a great place to stay. The hotel wasn't perfect, but the staff was so friendly! If I go back to Altus again, I will stay here.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! Friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was great. The breakfast host was top notch! Rooms were CLEAN!!!!!!!!!! Beds were amazing. Pool was warm and my kids had a blast swimming! Will most definately stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel during my son's funeral. Not only was the room most excellent, the service given and the friendliness of all of the staff and management exceeded what I'm used to.
As a retired Air Force Veteran I did, and still do, a lot of traveling. I've paid much more for much less all over the states.
I've even stayed at 5 other hotels in Altus, and this Holiday Inn is the best this town has to offer. I'll never stay anywhere else there again.
"Thank You" barely shows my appreciation for all that the kind folks there did for me and my family.

I came to stay at the Holiday Inn on business simply because other hotels in town that were recommended to me were booked. Upon arrival, I was greeted by very helpful and courteous front desk staff. I was told that I did not want to use the pool because it was cold, and after reading another review from 02/13/13, I discoverd that it appears the pool heater has been out for around a month and had still not beenr epaired by the date of my stay. I was assigned a ground floor room, and upon entering the hallway I was met with a horrendous smell. (Another review had noted the smell was outside due to the hot dog factory, but I did not notice a smell outside) Thankfully the room did not have the same odor, and after the second day of my two night stay, the smell did appear to fade slightly. The room was clean and well kept.
Breakfast was prompt at 6 with a few selections, but the the area was neat and clean and the breakfast staff offered great service.
On the second night of my stay the guests above me were stomping and making a large amount of noise to the point it was hard to get rest. I was in town on business and waking without a good night's sleep is not what I expected from the Holiday Inn.
Overall, it was a decent place to stay, but I in the future for return visits to Altus, I will seek other accomodations.

clean & well-kept rooms & areas; kind, caring staff; However, every time we shared an issue with a staff member, it was new to each person ( no coordination or pass down of issues from staff to staff member). A talk w/ GM revealed that pool heater had been broken for 1 week prior to visit, but GM had not shared w/ staff; we told GM that it appeared that GM did not share key information (pool heater is broken, how to use special electronic key system to open pool door, where special electronic keys were located); GM had not shared w/ all staff that many staff members (including GM, maintenance man & many housekeepers), were out sick w/ flu, making guests wonder if BEST SANITARY precautions were taken to decrease flu spread. In summary, good communication is key so that staff members are fully informed & thus guests are well cared-for. They did compensate us kindly with rewards points for the pool heater being broken; unfortunately, we lost 3 days of vacation awaiting the word about the pool (trying to get it open & heat turned up), before staff was finally told by GM that the pool heater was not just "turned down" but actually broken. Once they fix communication issues, the kind, caring staff will be the key to a fine hotel.

From the managment down to housekeeping, these folks are very professional. They really seem to care about their jobs and guests. Anytime you are in Altus, this is the place too stay!
