I stay here every time I fly in from Arizona to visit my mother, her husband, and my friends. I stay frequently, and have never had a bad experience. The entire staff is terrific!
The bed and pillows are very comfortable, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and you get a coupon good for a discount on the restaurant for a meal, and a free drink on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The workout room is important to me, also.
I get up early in the morning, get my coffee down by the front desk, and get on the computer for awhile before eating breakfast. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room, so you can buy groceries and save money by eating in your room.

We were disappointed with the noise coming from the HVAC unit. It was constantly turning on and off. Very disruptive to a light sleeper. A constant "on" switch for the fan would have helped. I ended up unplugging the whole unit to try and get some sleep.

Front desk personnel greeted us with a friendly smile. They recognized us as Priority Club members and said they appreciated our return visit to Holiday Inn Express properties. They were well groomed, professional, friendly, helpful and good representatives of the Holiday Inn Express

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Parents2013 Comfortable Bed - Horrible Sofa Sleeper.- Great Staff
We were the last guests to arrive that night at 9:00pm. We had booked a room with 2 queen beds. When we arrived at our room it had a King Bed with a sleeper sofa. As the hotel was completely booked we didn't complain as there wasn't another room to move us to. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable but the sofa sleeper was one of the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. We recommend this hotel as long as you do not need to use the to use the sofa to sleep on.

I travel about 2-3 nights per week, and I stay at this property often. Since I stay here so much, I thought it is about time that I write a review to describe my experiences. I've stayed at this hotel literally dozens of times, and I keep coming back. In a nutshell, this hotel has become a home away from home during the middle of a busy work week. Traveling so much for business can be an isolating and lonely experience, but the staff at this hotel goes above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed and appreciated. There is a small bar near the lobby, which provides an excellent atmosphere for socializing with a half dozen other business travelers. I know I'm not the only business traveler that feels like they've discovered a hidden gem in central Iowa, because I often see familiar faces crowded around the lobby bar. From the minute I walk in I am made to feel at home. Joel and Diane (or Diana?) always seem genuinely happy to see me, and greet me by name. And the usual bartender, Joanna, can converse with anyone and is always smiling. All the regulars agree that she is fantastic. I've spent many nights sitting around other hotel bars, where all the business travelers stare at the TV in silence. That never happens here. The vibe around the bar is very welcoming and conversational. And to round out my list, I have to mention the usual cook, Josh. While the menu isn't extensive here, it fits my needs perfectly. And when I am finished eating, Josh usually steps out of the kitchen to ask how my meal was. Every member of the staff here is great, but these people in particular set this hotel apart from the others. The features and amenities of a hotel are nice if you only travel rarely. However, for those of us that spend so many nights away from home, I believe the staff members contribute to the experience in a much more meaningful way. And this hotel receives 5 stars in that regard.

This could be a great property if employees actually cared. As a Platinum Member with the Holiday Inn I guess I expected more, when I checked in I was given 2 free drink coupons to use at the bar but wait the bar does not accept them for a glass of Pinot even though the coupon as wine or beer. The hotel ran my American Express card multiple times resulting in 3 separate holds on it and when I asked the front desk was told I had a pet in my room, which I did not. Staying on the 2nd floor it sounded like a heard of elephants were marching on the 3rd floor and was very difficult to step. I do think if the Leadership team actually cared this could be a fabulous property
