Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Location .. Horrible Service We had visited Mauritius for our Honeymoon. Although the resort and location were excellent, the Attitude of the Front Office Staff Was really horrible and nowhere close to the standards of other Intercontinental hotels. The Room Service were always delayed (1 to 1.5 hrs wait for an order) and the hotel was always out of stock on basic amenities. We also had to follow up multiple times for any requests we had placed to the room service. The front office staff was not at all aware of any facilities or services. Every time we had approached the reception with any query, we always got a different and confused answer. The Only PRO about the hotel was the Food and beverage Section. March 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Resort I have been an Ambassador for many years now staying at many Intercontinental Properties accross the globe, and this one stands out! The service, attention, management style and dedication of Arnaud Laviolette (Front Desk Office Manager) was second to none! He clearly understands the dychotemies of the hotel, staff and finds quick ways to solve problems. We stayed at the Resort for a week during New Years. Between New Year's functions and activities, the staff and management had to also deal with cyclone Dumile. With the exception of the visible effects of the weather, everything else in the Resort functioned seemingly. I stronly encourage visitors to Mauritius stay at this Resort! February 1, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Substandrd Interconential Experience We booked this hotel for our Wedding based on such great experiences with the ICH properties in London, New York, Hong Kong, Madrid, Beijing etc. This property is not anywhere near the same standard. No Luxurious rooms, Botched reservations, Unswept corridors, Terrible Buffet food, Mosquito infested rooms, Flies all over the food, Many issues too numerous to mention. Would not recomend and if I did not know better I would no stay in an ICH property again after this stay. Total dissapointment. After 5 nights we had to stay in next door hotel as this hotel was overboooked !!! January 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent location and brand The welcome we received as Gold Ambassador was second to none. A great way to set things off after a long flight. It was true paradise as we looked out over the balcony in the foyer over the Indian Ocean sunset watching the hotel prepare for Christmas in the heat of a Mauritian summer. Unfortunately the vision created was let down by numerous inefficiencies which can only be attributed to a young hotel that needs time to stabilise and train its staff on the ground to the Intercontinental "international way". There was a disconnect between management and customer expectations to what was delivered by staff. Reasons why things did not happen were abundant. However, as the days went by we became accustomed to this and felt very well cared for by management (like family) who appreciated there was a gap in the service and infrastructure. All said and done it was a great stay made memorable by the weather, location, senior staff and of course the comfort that we were with the Intercontinental Group in a distant country.
