We had a pleasant stay. First impressions from the exterior were not that good, but inside the hotel was fine. Breakfast was chaotic, not enough space and tables, however much of the chaos was down to the guest creating an unnecessary queue .

Stayed for two nights Monday to Wednesday late April. Our second visit to this property. Overall I felt that we had received value for money.
The location is in an area slowly being redeveloped, but it has a selection of lovely bars, restaurants and shops just a few minutes walk. Similarly the metro is no more than 5 minutes walk and a 10 minute journey gets you into the city centre for 2 euro. The seafront is about 15 minutes walk along a lovely Ramblas.
We found the staff warm and welcoming. They were helpful in recommending tours as well as ordering taxis. It cost roughly 10 euro to the city centre and 20 euro to the cruiseport.
Our room was clean and of the typical Express brand. Flatscreen Tv, bath and shower, aircon, coffee making facilities and a comfortable bed. Space is tight if you have lots of luggage and the storage space for hanging clothes very limited. There is no inroom safe.
The one area where we were very disappointed was the breakfast service. Normally you can get a decent breakfast at an Express and I have stayed in this brand all over Europe. However this was a scrum, crowded, chaotic, and lacking any organisation.
Both mornings we simply gave up and went out for something to eat. It felt like a school cafeteria and totally unwelcoming. This really does need to be given some thought.
Although recognised for our Priority Club status nothing was offered to us.
That aside we still enjoyed our stay and considered the price paid good value.

everything good about service and comfort for a family on a budget, availability of a carpark in a fairly central location a bonus, if only wifi were included -it would be perfect

Hotel was in great location- a few blocks from the beach and the downtown. The room fit all 4 of us comfortably, although the mattresses were hard as rocks! Awesome shower- lots of water pressure!
The breakfast was not what Americans would expect. There was a LONG line and NO hot foods. Felt like we were in a college dorm. If we stay there again we will go out for breakfast!
Staff was very friendly and they stored our bags until our room was ready. 30Euro cab ride from BCN airport and 20Euros to the port where our cruise departed.
Since we used points we felt it was a good deal but if we had paid for our stay I think we would have been disappointed.

I stayed in this hotel with my wife for 5 nights in April 2013. I read reviews, which I think do not make justice to the hotel
The room was nice, large, very comfortable with all amenities and was newly decorated.
The breakfast was good with a lot of choices in the buffet.
The staff was knowledgeable, fluent in English and helpful
It is very near the metro station and only 4 metro stations from the center of the city
Our experience was good.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel, is family friendly, they got good food, is not far from town centre and is close from the beach. The breakfast is very good although is the same every day. It's worth the price.
