We were very happy about spending a couple of days at this Holiday Inn on our visit to Bern for the Qin exhibition. In particular, the possibility of going to the Water Park straight from the hotel was appealing to us.
However, after our stay, we can say that the hotel is good, all in all, but our stay was not so great for various reasons: 1) we found two long series of dirty spots on the bed lined; when we try to call the housekeeper to have them changed, nobody ever picked up the phone, so I cleaned them with the wipes I had with me, but it was not a great solution; 2) I am allergic to feathers and when I asked reception about synthetic pillows, they had none because, they said, the hotel was full and everybody wanted a non-feather pillow (!); 3) we asked for late check out - just one hour - and I was told by an extremely inflexible and unpleasant lady at the reception that this was not possible because the hotel was full; indeed, after a lot of talking I managed to obtain half an hour - ridiculous, isn't it, for a hotel like the Holiday Inn!
Last but not least, after having paid the hotel parking for our night stay (very cheap, about 5 francs), we decided to leave the car in the hotel's parking and go to the exhibition in the centre of Bern by bus, as recommended by the hotel reception staff. However, for 1 adult's and 2 children's return tickets, we spent 19 francs, plus 16 francs of parking fee when we came back to pick up the car! I guess we would have paid much less if we had parked in the city centre. So the hotel is not to be recommended if you want to spend time in Bern centre.

Only "major" problem was glass door between the bedrom and the bathroom which makes a lot of noise every time you close it.
A "rubber stopper" could problem solve the problem, already reported at the end of our stay..

Zimmereinrichtung und Kmfort auf sehr gutem Niveau. Leider ist der einzige anwesende Mitarbeiter für den Check in und das ständig läutende Telefon zuständig. Trotz vieler wartenden Gästen ständig am Telefon besetzt und der Priority Check-In für Gold Mitglieder ist nicht besetzt!

Wow! I tend to over-research my choices to make sure I get the right property to stay at. But, as soon as we pulled up, i knew we made the right choice. The hotel is stunning - very sleek, modern, very cool! More importantly, the hotel is spotlessly clean every where I looked which is important. Our room, which was the cheapest in terms of choices was stunning with a great view over the alps, comfortable bed and pillows and great bathroom fixtures. The restaurant staff are very friendly and eager to help with recommendations in their nice restaurant. Had a really lovely swiss dinner!

Smart choice if you are planing to go to Bernaqua since the hotel is offering you a free entrance worth 2.5 hours. Bernaqua is located in the same building (5 minutes away from the hotel entrance). I liked the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and hotel, and the buffet (yummi).
WIll recommend this hotel.

Das Design des Hauses fanden wir wunderschön, modern und gleichzeitig doch zum Wohlfühlen. Genial ist das man 2.5 Stunden kostenfrei das Bern Aqua nutzen kann, haben das wirklich genossen! Das Personal am Empfang und im Service war ausgesprochen herzlich. Frühstück war für die Schweiz ausgesprochen reichhaltig und sehr schön angerichtet.
Da wir uns die Altstadt angesehen haben, waren wir auch über die Anbindung zur Innenstadt sehr positiv überrascht, gerade mal 9 Minuten mit der Bahn.
War ein super toller Aufenthalt, würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen!

We appreciate the special rate for over 62 years old.
The room was comfortable and clean.
The restaurant was good, portions were big, so on the second evening we opted for the "bits" rather than the "bites", thus having smaller portions.
Being part of a large shopping mall was interesting and the public transport to the centre of Berne was good. Easy access from the motorway to the hotel parking.
