Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WOW Had an opportunity to stay at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn on business last week... check-in, a breeze ( Jakie was great],room large and the bed super comfortable. Ordered roomservice, prompt, hot and tasty. Breakfast buffet FAB... smoked salmon, fresh fruit, multigrain bread, Bigelow tea, yogurts, oatmeal, Tropicana oj, who could ask for more. Service was great [Xiomara was happy and cheerful, very refreshing]. Stopped at the Martini Bar was blown away by the fresh guacamole with chips, Jerk wings, special of stir fried shrimp and key lime pie. Someone knows how to cook. Sheenagh was very friendly and perky. Check-out... no problem. Will be back. May 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We were surprised! Check in lady was THE BEST that I've dealt with in a while. Room upgrade due to my status was AWESOME. THanks! Alex May 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice and comfortable room Room was wonderful, clean, and inviting. Parking was appropriate for inner city. Front desk staff checkin was great. Later dealing with other shift waited 5 minutes while talking to "friends". Had breakast in restuarant, although clean and inviting, pastry was ice cold ( out of freezer) no ketchup at table, had to find wait staff for coffee. Spouse had cereal and coffee was charged full hot buffet price. This was very disappointing. March 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Food Breakfast buffet much better than I anticipated. Dinner meals had nice, large portions. I ordered the salmon with relish, which was not very good. March 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Great Stay in Bridgeport I have been using this hotel since the renovation. I travel further from another HI in North haven to stay here. The staff is very attentive. Valerie has always made my stays enjoyable. Always willing to work with my special needs. A new employee this trip Ricky was very pleasant and helpful at the front desk. I will be back.... and will bring more people with me. March 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Good I have stayed here off and on for years. I have seen it change so much and all fo rthe good I would say being a traveler for business. I like the newest remodel they've done, the beds are AMAZING. I would def recommend. Some of the staff can be hot or cold. I sometimes felt I was being rudely treated but I understand the hotel business to a degree. When in the area it's the only place I book usually. Unless they've increased their rates which they do from time to time and make it impossible for me to stay, using a corporate card. Be weary of the rate change/increase. March 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always a pleasant stay Stayed at this hotel many times over the past year for business and always had a pleasant stay. Hotel staff curtious and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is decent and reasonably priced. As a Gold Priority Club Member I always get an upgrade which doesn't happen often at other Holiday Inns! The hotel bar, the Blue Martini Lounge is a great place to relex and have a cocktail after a long day at work. The lounge staff is always pleasant and friendly especially the bartender Nick. You can always count on him to make an amazing drink and always goes out of his way to make your visit to the lounge a pleasant one. March 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average value overall...with a little more TLC would prove better I have stayed at this site a number of times and the main reason is it's location. The staff is average to above average and the front desk eg Jackie wants to provide good service. The buffet b'fast is overheated and bearly edible but of course the price is good. Less heat and more attention to detail and it would be much better. More heathly choices like turkey sausage and fluffy cooked scr. eggs would help. Restaurant service was very good but food choices were just OK. I had to return an item that had an unwanted particle in it. Ceasar salad was good, many appetizers were very good but needed more reasonably priced American cuisine for entrees. Reception appetizers at most HI's are on Tuesday (than Wed) which makes more sense for the guests to get a warm feeling right near the beginning of the week. Rooms were clean and fine. Overall a good experience but as the neighborhood is questionable after hours I surely wanted to remain in the hotel and not wander...not a good thing for someone that wants to get out and walk within a mile of the hotel. Need to have a breakfast plan with the stay included for a great rate...especially for Platinums that have a choice to go HI or not. February 25, 2013
