I admit, I chose this hotel based on the fact it was the best rate I found in the area and because they offered a military discount. I am Active duty and any business which recognizes military members gets my business.
The room had massive water stain damage on the ceiling which was obviously being covered by a very poor paint job. The bed sheets, upon close inspection, had small stains on them. There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom, only a heat lamp; so forget about using the mirror after you shower. The room had no safe, which is standard in almost all other hotels I stay at, to include other Holiday Inns.
The lobby, pool, and restaurant area look fabulous so I thought our room and immediate surrounding area would be nice as well, but it was not the case. The building itself was in slight disrepair as there were loose walking tiles, propped eaves allowing a massive bird colony to nest (and chirp when the sun came up!), and outside light fixtures missing illumination.
Based on my check in experience and observations, I feel that since I asked for a military rate and received a discount then I also got stuck in the farthest, most outdated corner of the hotel
Overall, for the price, it wasn't a terrible stay; but when I compare it to the hundreds of other stays I have had in recent months and years it was by far the most disappointing.

I think this is a great hotel, the place is super clean and the restaurant is great. The employees are very nice, and like working there.

The building was very old, dark hallways, small room, and steep steps up to the door. The upholstered furniture was so dirty we did not sit down on it. The coverlet on the bed was dirty. The bathroom was small with piles of dirt in the corners of the floor. I am a Priority Club member and did not receive my welcome snack upon arrival. I could have stayed at a budget hotel/motel in the area for at least 1/2 the price and perhaps it would have been clean.

This hotel is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was huge and there was plenty of things for my children to do while staying. This hotel is HUGE, you can walk around, sit in the lounge, sit beside the pool, etc. Plenty of places to sit and relax or just stay in your room. Will stay here again!!!

I walked in and thought wow! this place is really nice. Then got to my room and eh it was ok. I then got back to go up to my room on the third night and was locked out! then had to argue with the front dest for about 45 minutes before they got me back in my room. If it was not for that happening i would say it is a great place to stay for the money. The food is just ok but better then express breakfast. I would not have minded so much being locked out of my room as much as it was a pain it wouldn't have been so bad had they not argued with me when i pulled up my reservation right on my phone proving to them i booked all week. At that point it seems they would have just given me the key to the room where all my stuff still was and figured out there end of it while i was sleeping.

Room had a very nice view of a lake right outside our room, ducks and geese on our patio. very relaxing atmosphere, check in and lounge staff were very nice and friendly, and the rate was good for this area, we have stayed here before and will be back again real soon..

Was there for the Derby, so we expected very steep prices. The staff was great. Very polite and helpful. We would stay there again. Location was good. Easy to get to the city and other attractions.
