For a recent business trip to Edmonton, I was a guest at the Holiday Inn Express North. The price per night was reasonable and the customer service was excellent. Front desk staff were helpful in answering questions about local area.
Guest rooms are spacious and clean. The daily breakfast had a variety of choices and the food was good.
I would recommend this hotel to business and family travelers. You will be comfortable and well taken care of at a reasonable price.

Hi everybody, I teach High School and we book about 400-500 Holiday Inn rooms a year. Well our last trip to Edmonton at the North Side Holiday Inn on Fort Rd. for the Provincial Skill Competion we rent 5 rooms for 3 days. I had 10 High School Students and 2 others with me. There was also 2 other schools booked into the hotel. Just by chance upon arrival, a pool is closed for cleaning sign went on the pool room door. The sign said cleaning for the next 48 hours. So, our students could not use the pool. I end up talking to a guest that was not with the schools, he was coming out of the closed pool area. He told me that he was told by the staff that the pool is only closed to the schools staying at the hotel, but that it was ok to swim and the pool was not really being cleaned. Well, because of this incident we will be no longer booking Holiday Inn rooms when on school trips. Our district is also now considering our school boycout as well. I hope that the Holiday Inn franchise does not miss 2000-3000 hotel room bookings a year.

Overall the hotel is clean, beds are comfortable and front desk staff are friendly.
We were traveling with 2 young children, so we booked a suite with the living room separate from the bedroom as our children go to bed earlier than us. However, the a/c is located in the bedroom and does not circulate well to the living room when the bedroom door is closed and became warm/stuffy in the living room.
The continental breakfast is good. There was a variety of bread products, yogurt, boiled eggs, hot scrambled eggs, sausages and a pancake machine. However, the breakfast lacked fruit. There were only bananas. Please note that if you are traveling with children that require a high chair, there is only 1 high chair in the continental area. I was glad that we packed our travel high chair because the chair was being used when we went for breakfast.
There is a small pool and hot tub.The pool was closed for 48hrs for maintenance which disappointed my young daughter. She was able to go in the pool on another day and it was cold and took a while for her to adjust. Others were also commenting on the pool being cold so I'm not sure if that is normal or if it was still heating up after the maintenance.
The front desk staff were friendly!
I would recommend staying at the hotel if needing to be in the North. It is close to restaurants (Red Robin and Earls) and grocery stores. Superstore is across the street and Costco around the corner.

After experiencing a very bad stay in another hotel in Edmonton, i searched out a hotel near by. I was very unfamiliar with the Edmonton area, but after calling the Edmonton North Holiday Inn Express, I felt a huge relief and reassurance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The staff went out of their way to say "Hello" and ask you how your day was going. It was truly as good as home.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well equipped. Travelling always on business, this hotel has all the amendities. After a long day, you can relax in the pool or hot tub,go next door to the gym or walk to a nearby restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, who likes to be looked after on every repeat visit.
I would say this hotel " Hits a Home Run."

My wife and I just recently stayed at this Holiday Inn Express.
We were treated with the best service that we have had staying at a hotel in quite a long time.
The staff were courteous and very accommodating. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable.
The best part of our stay were the ladies who worked at front reception. They made you feel welcome right from the get go. They seemed like they enjoyed their jobs and were very friendly and courteous. They had personality. Something that you definitely need in the customer service business.
Thank you for making us feel at home.

As you can see from above other then the nise from the trains constantly going by the room was excellant, after changing rooms to the cront of the hotel I was very satisfied.
As for sevice the low mark is not because of service while staying at hotel but for after check out, my receipt was ready due to change of rooms they only had a one night invoice for me, the last, i left my email address on Thursday and phoned the hotel on Friday afternoon because I still had not recieved my copy and had to leave my email address again. I waited all weekend and still no invoice, I had to call again on Monday morning to ask for my invoice and again I had to leave my email address this time I did not hang up until the email was sent. Not very good follow up service for a Platinum card holder. Otherwise I would have rated this hotel higher.
