I have been a Platinum Priority Club member for years and stay at HIE's frequently. This would rate as one of the worse HIE's I have stayed at. The hallway carpets were being replaced. Thank goodness as they were a mess. The hallways were extremely warm. I was in a two-room suite and the air conditioner in the bedroom did not work and it was very warm. The tub was very slow to drain so I was in about 2 inches of standing water during my shower. The coffee maker did not heat the water. I chose to check-out early. I expressed my complaints to the staff. They did apologize and offered to give me 3000 Priority points which I did not receive. I have communicated my concerns about this property to our corporate travel department. I definitely will never stay there again.

We stayed in a king suite, needing the pull out couch - bed in the living room. The pull out bed SORELY needs a new / better pad! The poor guy who used it said he could feel every spring, and didn't get a very good sleep at all... all else about our stay was fine. Too bad this one 'small'(?) item kept it from being perfect.

We got an upgrade to a suite due to our priority club status. This worked out great as we got our grandkids to stay with us. This was our 4th or 5th stay here.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PNWcoffeesnobs Very friendly staff, comfortable; need to clean hallway carpet
We have stayed several times at this Holiday Inn. The staff are the best part of the hotel - very kind and helpful. - especially Vonne (Van?) at the front desk and the breakfast supervisor. They both went out of their way for us. The King Suite was especially great for our family of four. The pool is always a good place for our kids. A few things would greatly enhance the facility. The hallway carpets look very shabby - stained and worn. I hope they are on a short list for upgrading. They make the hotel seem much more run down than it is. And, most rooms for some reason only have "coolers" instead of functional fridges. Another timely upgrade! It was not labeled as such in the room, only on my receipt, and all my food went bad. :( Also, some noise abatement between rooms would be good - I can always tell when the neighbors are in the shower, and our door slammed really loudly every time we exited. And - I realize this is standard Holiday Inn fare, but...could we please get a few whole grains on the breakfast menu? And perhaps...I know, I'm dreaming here...but coffee that actually isn't watery brown stuff? BUT, all that said, glad to stay there.

I would like to mention 3 of your employees who went above and beyond to making our stay pleasant. Front desk: Zen & Joel whom were professional and personable. Great conversation with Zen & Joel calmly rescuing me after I lost the map to Church Service Easter morning . The third is Steve in housekeeping as silly as this sounds, when I asked how I could obtain a shower cap ,made it his priority to find one for me.
It was a treat having 24 hour coffee & snacks in the lobby, The
continental breakfast, very good.
The air conditioner unit was a little stressful.. It seemed to work fine during the day. During the night, would not maintain the setting of 65 & our last morning, the hairdryer kept shutting itself off when it got hot.
We are planning on returning back to Escondido in the fall & will probably be returning to the Holiday Express. Thank You.

My stay was adequate however my wife would not have liked it. The bed was comfortable and I could get coffee in the morning. It was a bit on the noisy side. The set up for the breakfast was inefficient however the price was right! The room was clean but not sparkling. (reason my very particular wife would not have stayed) For 1 night it was ok.

We love this location for it's close proximity to the Wild Animal Park. We can spend the day there, check into the hotel, grab a great In & Out burger, (they're next door) & relax in our nice, clean, comfy room. In the morning, we can get a quick breakfast before hitting the road. The only downside to this last trip, was being informed that they did not have their famous cinnamon rolls on the weekend ????? They need to seriously re-think that! The clerk at the desk is always friendly, & the rooms are roomy, with a nice chair, & 4 fat pillows on the bed. The bathroom sparkles, & the towels are soft. Bring back the weekend cinnamon rolls, & it'll be perfect!

The hotel was close to the highway, walking distance to shops and restaurants and inside everything and everyone was nice and friendly. The hotel is tucked behind the In N Out Burger & Coco's - those were the best landmarks to use if you arrive at night.
