More commonly known as the Boston Garden, TD Garden is the home of the NBA's Boston Celtics and the NHL's Boston Bruins. Formerly known as the FleetCenter, TD Garden has hosted the Celtics and Bruins since 1993, and has witnessed two Championship trophy-winning teams. If you are in Boston during the season, then schedule a visit to the Garden to watch a Celtics or Bruins game.
Named for TD Banknorth, the stadium opened in 1993 to replace the dated and aged Boston Garden. Hoping to continue the legacy of the old stadium that saw the Celtics win seven consecutive championships in the 1960s, the TD Garden has a seating capacity of about 20,000.
In addition to being the home of the Celtics and Bruins, TD Banknorth accommodates a number of other sporting events, including figure skating competitions, NCAA Men's Basketball Championship games, and hotly contested hockey games. Every February, TD Garden comes alive with fans of college hockey when local hockey juggernauts Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Harvard College face off in the Bean Pot for bragging rights in the city. The stadium is also host to more than 200 musical performances and live shows.
Visiting TD Garden
Given that TD Garden is conveniently located adjacent to South Station, getting to the stadium is a breeze. The commuter rail and the "T" are only steps away. Fans interested in driving to the game are welcome to park at one of the parking garages located within walking distance of the TD Garden. Because the parking garages charge more on game days, anyone driving to the game may want to consider parking on the street a few blocks from the stadium and walking to TD Garden.
In addition to the stadium, TD Garden also has a famous sports museum that pays homage to the greats in the Boston sports world. With the exception of game days, the museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located right on the water in the South End, it is worth arriving for events early to explore the surrounding area. Delicious pizza can be found at a number of nearby restaurants and, of course, New England clam chowder is a must.

Overall a very good experience. The exterior had me a little concerned. The property looked aged. But the rooms were very nice and comfortable
The staff in the lobby were excellent. They presented[More]
themselves in a very courtesy manner. Always willing to help and answer any questions.
The only downside was the overall cost. I understand it was Patriot Day weekend and economics dictates pricing by demand. But Whoof!!! It was expensive. [Less]
