Located in the heart of London, Wembley Stadium may be one of the most iconic and famous international stadiums. Not only does the stadium play host to European football, but also it has been the site of legendary matches featuring the United States and teams from around the world. Opened in 2007, Wembley Stadium is considered one of the nicest arenas in all of professional sports, and it has a maximum fan capacity of 90,000 fans.
Wembley Stadium has a sliding roof that protects the fans and players from the elements. However, because soccer (futbol) is expected to be played in any kind of precarious weather, the roof does not completely close.
When not hosting football or rugby matches, Wembley Stadium is used for prominent concerts, including shows by U2, Green Day and many others.
Visiting Wembley Stadium
Because tickets to sporting events and concerts at the arena can be hard to find, Wembley Stadium does have daily tours. The 75-minute tour gives a first-hand glance at the history of the stadium and the experience of playing there by taking visitors behind the scenes in the England Changing Rooms and by giving a tour of the Royal Box. Although the dates and times of the tour vary by season, more information is available on the Wembley Stadium website.

Good hotel, clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly. Very good location right next to North Acton tube station on the tube central line and still in zone 2, therefore it was easy to access[More]
central London in 15-20 mins for sightseeing. While we were there there was planned engineering work on the central tube line, but the replacement buses were very frequent, easy and stopped right outside the hotel door. We would stay here again if visiting London. The only slight problem was when a guest set off the fire alarm briefly at 8am one morning by wrongly using the toast machine, so we had an earlier wake up call than planned that day. [Less]
