Zoo Atlanta is home to more than 1,500 animals from more than 200 species. What separates Zoo Atlanta from other similar establishments is that it has the largest collection of gorillas and orangutans in the nation, and is home to the only twin panda bears in the US.
Set in gorgeous Grant Park, the oldest park in the city, Zoo Atlanta has numerous shops and restaurants in the neighborhood for you to enjoy before or after making a trip to the zoo.
Take a spin around the world as you walk through exhibits featuring animals from nearly every country. From the legendary Komodo Dragon to the African Lion to the African Gorillas, visitors to Zoo Atlanta are treated to a once in a lifetime experience that can only be replicated by visiting the natural habitats of these animals.
Opened in 1889, Zoo Atlanta sits on 40 acres of pristine land in Atlanta. Exhibits at Zoo Atlanta include a mock rain forest complete with indigenous species, the Giant Pandas, the Asian Forest and The World of Reptiles.
