Many young children all across the country grow up watching the long-running PBS TV show "Sesame Street." And just outside of Philadelphia -- in Langhorne, Pennsylvania -- these young children have the chance to meet Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Bert, Ernie and all their other favorite characters, ride Sesame Street-themed rides and watch shows at Sesame Place, a 14-acre theme park owned and operated by SeaWorld Entertainment. In fact, Sesame Place is the only theme park in the country solely based off of the hit children's TV show.
Sesame Place's roots date back to 1980, when it was founded on 3 acres of land. Over time the park grew in notoriety, expanding to add more rides and attractions as its popularity grew. Today, Sesame Place is home to a total of 27 rides, 10 of which are water rides. Some popular attractions include Elmo's World, the Splash Castle area and the Monster Maze.
Sesame Street characters can be found throughout the park for families to meet and take pictures with. The theme park offers character parades at certain periods of the day. For a more intimate experience, families can purchase separate tickets to a character breakfast at the park, which is held prior to the park opening for the day.

park the car, check in and not worry about driving until we left the next day. I was only at the hotel to sleep, did not spend much time there because we were at the reception after check in, until late that night, but we had a great night of sleep, very quiet, did not hear any outside noise at all. Had breakfast with the whole family the next morning, it was very good, and there was lots of room for us all to eat together, we had 3 big tables full. [Less]
