The Georgia Dome, which opened in 1992, is home field for the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia State University Panthers. In addition to regular season home games for those two teams, it hosts regional championship games and exhibitions throughout the year, including The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic, The Southeastern Conference football championship game, and The Georgia High School Football State Championship.
While The Dome is a hot spot for regional and collegiate football fans, it presents a variety of other events for natives and travelers alike. A mixture of sporting events take place there every year, including basketball tournaments and soccer matches. The Dome was even a central venue for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
In addition to the sports activities, the site also hosts an assortment of entertaining events, such as major concerts, religious occasions, and major motorcycle and monster truck shows. Many area high schools even host their graduation ceremonies there.

290 feet high at its highest point, the Dome is as tall as a 27-story skyscraper.
The roof is supported by more than 11 miles of cable. The 8.6 acre covering features 130 fiberglass panels clad with Teflon covering.

Hotel was very clean. The only problem that I had was controlling room temperature. My unit stayed hot all night. I turned thermostat down to 60 degrees and I was still hot all night. Maintenance[More]
told me the unit was doing all it could do to keep the room cool. The temperature outside was only in the mid 70's. I can't imagine how hot the room would would be in mid summer. The hallways were also bad. The heat in them would take your breathe when you left your room. [Less]
I booked this room because it was close to my route back to Florida. I normally try to stay at IHG properties, but am embarrassed to say that I've never heard of Hotel Indigo.
I looked at the hotel[More]
online and it look like a refreshing change.
All I can say is Wow! The rooms are huge and very modern in decor. The floor plan was very well thought out. The window was the entire width of the room (16'-20'). This gave the room a very open feel, not that the room was small to begin with. They have all the amenities you need and the staff was very nice.
Other hotels would charge 2-3 times the cost for a similar room.
I will be staying at Hotel Indigo many more times in the future if they have a location in my destination town. [Less]
