They say that everything is bigger in Texas. Texas Motor Speedway, located at 3545 Lone Star Circle in northern Fort Worth, seats more than 191,000 people, making its capacity the second biggest in the country among NASCAR tracks. The 1.5-mile asphalt track is the host venue of two NASCAR Sprint Cup races as well as two Nationwide Series events.
History and Details
The Texas Motor Speedway was inaugurated on February 29, 1996, following its $250 million construction. Today, it hosts the Texas 500 and the AAA Texas 500 for NASCAR's Sprint Cup series races and the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge for the Nationwide Series races. It also hosts an IndyCar event and two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.
While the Texas Motor Speedway is a race track through and through, that hasn't excluded the site from serving as a venue for other events. For instance, the speedway has hosted some of the biggest musical concerts ever held in Texas. In 1997, it hosted the Fruit of the Loom Country Music Festival, which attracted 185,000 music fans, and later that same summer, it hosted the Blockbuster Rock Fest, which drew 385,000 fans over the course of 15 hours to hear 16 bands.
The race track also serves as the host venue to the Texas Driving Experience, which allows race fans to get behind the wheel of a real race car.
Guest tours are also available on most days throughout the season. Tours cost $8 per person and include visits to the track, pit row, victory lane and the luxury suites and concourse.
The best way to get to the Texas Motor Speedway is by car. In fact, unlike many race tracks across the country, most of the parking at the venue is free, making it even easier and more convenient for race fans to come enjoy a day at the track. But for those who wish to be closer to the gates, there are paid and VIP parking sections available, as well.

I've stayed here now 3 times I think and it feels comfortable and clean and welcoming. The breakfast is really great! While my friend stayed elsewhere in Denton where the lobby/breakfast area is[More]
'flashier', her room was darker and felt cave-like when the curtains were closed. My room here felt private but not dark (in a bad way) when the curtains were closed. This lobby/breakfast area is simple and clean. Beware the wonderful shower head - too much water pressure is great until you realize there's a lake on the floor after (yes, the curtain was 100% closed, but it's fabric so the water just kinda went thru it). Also, just double-check your bedside alarm to be sure it's off if you don't want to wake up to blaring music at midnight! :/ The bed was comfortable enough and I was tired enough that I went right back to sleep, though. My room was comfortable and my stay was pleasant. [Less]
