Besides being the hub of the film industry, Los Angeles plays host to several professional sports teams: NBA's Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, the NHL's Kings, and the WNBA's Spark. And when they play, they play at the Staples Center.
As the only stadium that is the home to two NBA teams, the arena accommodates two separate, gorgeous, state-of-the-art home locker room facilities for the Lakers and Clippers.
When it isn't putting on games for the four professional sports teams, the multi-functional stadium (which can host four million visitors in a year) welcomes some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
Construction of the Staples Center began in 1998 and cost a whopping $375 million. When it was finished in 1999, the Staples Center was one of the finest examples of architecture and modern technology in a sports stadium in the world.
Visiting the Staples Center
Anyone interested in attending a game or performance at the Staples Center can purchase tickets by visiting the venue or team's website or calling the box office daily between 10 AM and 6PM. Given that the Staples Center is home to the likes of Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin making their highlight reel plays a staple at the stadium, it is best to purchase tickets well in advance.
The Staples Center is easy to reach by public transportation (bus and train) or by car. Parking can be challenging, so anyone attending a game or event at the Staples Center is encouraged to find an alternative method of transportation.
Once you are inside the stadium, the fun is only just beginning. Be sure to visit one of the more than 50 different concession stands to try traditional treats like a root beer float and burger, or go outside the box with fresh sushi. Once the game is over, head to one of the numerous hotels near the Staples Center for a restful night's sleep.

This hotel was a great place for a visit to Disney. There were restaurants within walking distance. It was very clean and comfortable. We were even given a view of the fireworks!
