Opened in 1975, the Superdome is home to the NFL's New Orleans Saints. This record breaking facility has hosted 7 Superbowls, and 4 BCS National Championship Games. It holds the Sugar Bowl every year and Tulane University’s football team played all their home games in the Superdome through 2013.

In 2005 the Superdome was badly damaged in Hurricane Katrina, and part of its exterior was peeled off by high winds. After serving as a temporary shelter, it was closed until 2006 so that it could undergo a $185 million renovation. Additional renovations were completed in 2011 making the Superdome one of the most state of the art facilities in the country.

Visiting the Superdome
The Superdome is located in New Orleans central business district. It is adjacent to the Smoothie King Center and close to the French Quarter. It is convenient to New Orleans’ many hotels, sitting right off the Pontchartrain Expressway. Parking around the stadium is plentiful.
