Legoland Florida is a 145-acre, Lego-themed amusement park in Winter Haven, Florida. It’s the second largest Legoland park in the world. Subsequently, it takes most people about two days to take in the 45 rides, attractions, eateries, and shopping opportunities.
Before 2011, the location was known as Cypress Gardens. However, with some changes it adopted the Legoland name and now offers family attractions that will impress children and adults alike.
Things to Do at Legoland
Legoland kept the botanical gardens that made Cypress Gardens an appealing destination and perked up the attractions with a Lego theme. There are a number of rides, shows, and attractions.
When planning your day, it makes sense to start with Island in the Sky, which stands 150 feet tall and allows visitors to see the entire park. From there you can make your way to the roller coasters and thrill rides, including Dragon Coaster, Coastersaurus, and Project X.
Once you’ve had your fill of coasters, be sure to check out the interactive rides, like Lost Kingdom Adventure, Pharaoh's Revenge, and Safari Trek.
Done being thrilled and looking to relax? Grab a bite to eat at Granny’s Apple Fries, build your own Lego creations in the Imagination Zone, or stand in awe at the time and detail required to make the realistic Lego replicas throughout Miniland USA.
Like all Lego parks, a number of Lego structures are located around the park where fans of the block can 'oooh and ahh' with wonder at the work that goes into construction of something so complex.
The park is designed for families that have children under age 12, and as such has more kid-friendly activities than most destinations. You can find these rides in Duplo Village.
Florida is a state that has tourists' needs in mind. Since many travel from out of town, many nearby hotels offer shuttle service directly to Legoland.
Those traveling by car can take advantage of the on-site parking lot where their vehicles will remain safe and secure during a visit to the park. Once on the grounds, getting around the park is easy. The park is arranged in a simple manner and there are plenty of directories and employees available to assist visitors in case you become disoriented.
