Since 2002, football fans have flocked to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, to watch the NFL's New England Patriots take the field. While the 68,700-plus seat facility is best known for being the home of the Patriots, it's also the home field of the University of Massachusetts' NCAA football team and the New England Revolution soccer team of the MLS. Additionally, the concerts and other special events that the venue hosts have helped to make Gillette Stadium New England's premiere entertainment venue.
Though more than a decade old, Gillette Stadium is still widely considered to be one of the NFL's best venues for fans and athletes alike. The field isn't natural grass, but a high-quality field turf that meets all safety standards. Furthermore, in both end zones, the fan experience is aided by two high-definition video screens that measure 41.5 x 164 feet, making them the largest video screens in any outdoor stadium.
That's even if you need to use the video monitors -- Gillette Field prides itself on not having a truly bad seat in the house. In fact, all seats are designed to focus on midfield, offering quality sight lines from everywhere in the stadium.
Visiting Gillette Stadium
Located about 30 minutes from downtown Boston and about 20 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island, the stadium is centrally located to appease local New England fans. It's also accessible via the Providence/Stoughton and Franklin rail lines for fans who don't want to hassle with traffic or parking -- but only during home Patriots football games.
If you're a football fan planning to visit Gillette Stadium for the purpose of taking in a Patriots game -- beware! The stadium has sold out every home game since it opened, a sellout streak that actually goes all the way back to the 1994 football season. So if you're coming to Gillette Stadium, whether you're a Patriots fan or just a football fan trying to cross another iconic venue of the sports "bucket list," be sure to get your tickets early.

Was in town for one night on business. Chose this hotel mostly because of price, it was much less expensive than the others in the area. Upon arrival I noticed the grounds were kept nice and the[More]
lobby was also nice and updated. Staff greeted me as normal. The room is what I would expect at a HI (clean and simple). The one surprise was the bed. Have to say it was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and the pillows were also great. I usually have a hard time sleeping in hotels, but because of the bed I slept like a rock. Overall a good value choice for the area. Don't see a reason to pay a lot more for a similar hotel from another chain. [Less]
