Arrowhead Stadium is an icon in Kansas City, Missouri. Located in the heart of the city, the home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs is the fifth largest NFL stadium, and the 27th largest sports stadium in the United States. Total seating capacity at the stadium is 76,416 fans.
Although it is not a new stadium, having been built between 1968 and 1972, Arrowhead Stadium features many luxurious amenities, thanks to a $375-million remodel in 2010. The process took Arrowhead Stadium from drab and boring to modern and exciting, and included the Chiefs Hall of Honor, the addition of television monitors and "Horizon Level" luxury seating, which lets suite owners take in the game while sitting outdoors.
Arrowhead Stadium is known for being one of the loudest stadiums in professional football. In fact, in 2013 fans of the Chiefs shattered a Guinness World Record for "loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium" with an ear-crushing reading of 137.5 decibels, according to ESPN. Although the record has since been surpassed by the Seattle Seahawks, it does go to show just how loud and exciting a game at Arrowhead Stadium can be.
Visiting Arrowhead Stadium
Even if attending a game is not possible, the stadium offers self-guided and regular guided tours. Self-guided tours are held every Saturday from March to December and allow fans access to the locker rooms, the field and the Chiefs Hall of Honor. Or you can opt for the 1.5-hour guided tour with a stadium staff member.
Although parking is available at the facility, Arrowhead Stadium officials encourage game attendees to take public transportation. The team offers a convenient shuttle service that runs from 13 nearby parking lots to the stadium on game days. Tickets for the Shuttle Pass can be purchased for a single game or in bulk for the entire season at a reduced rate.
