Dodger Stadium is the third oldest stadium in baseball, trailing only Boston's Fenway Park and Chicago's Wrigley Field. Located in greater Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium opened in 1962 and can hold up to 56,000 fans. Carved into the hillside of Chavez Ravine, and overlooking downtown LA, it is a unique spot in the world of sports.
Dodger Stadium owns its share of historic moments. From World Series victories, to Cy Young award winning pitchers and Sandy Koufax’s 1965 perfect game, there is a lot of baseball history here. In addition to legendary moments in baseball history, the stadium has also major hosted concerts by the likes of the Beatles and U2, a major league soccer tournament. It was even the site of a Catholic Mass service by Pope John Paul II.
Although Dodger Stadium is one of the league’s older parks, the experience here is anything but dated. Recent renovations and upgrades have included HD video screens, state of the art sound systems, modernized concessions and facilities, a new clubhouse and WiFi throughout the stadium. The result is one of the most up to date fan experiences in the country.
Visiting Dodger’s Stadium
Even if it’s not baseball season when you’re in town, a visit to the stadium still deserves a place on your agenda. Walking tours are available outside of some game days, and include visits to field level, the Dodger’s dugout, the press club, the VIP Dugout club, and a look at the many Dodger’s World Series, MVP and Cy Young awards.Accessing Dodger’s Stadium is easy – ample parking is available adjacent to the stadium. The Dodger Stadium Express bus runs regularly from Union Station, which is served by a wide variety of Los Angeles Metro lines. I would have given 5 stars if breakfast be improved. For some reason, the selection[More]
of so called breakfast buffet was somewhat limited to few items. Perhaps it passed 10:00am even though closing time 11:00am. All I had was fruit and orange juice along with coffee because not much food left (hard to eat or chew).
Also housekeeping knocked at the door woke up close to 9AM.
In general, great front desk service offer courtesy late check-out by 2:00pm as platinum member. We appreciate flexibility. Thanks. [Less]
