Home of the Chicago Bears, Soldier Field is the oldest stadium in the NFL. It was built in 1924 and has maximum capacity of 61,500. So, in addition to being the oldest field, it's also the third smallest stadium in the NFL.
Designed to be a memorial tribute to the soldiers of World War I, Soldier Field has Doric colonnades featuring falling leaves that signify the war's fallen soldiers.
In 2003, the stadium received a substantial facelift that brought Soldier Field into the twenty-first century with elements like large JumboTron monitor and luxurious club and VIP suites. However, the changes were deemed controversial and Soldier Field lost its place in the National Register of Historic Places.
Visiting Soldier Field
