Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station really stands out because of its ideal location and connections to the airport and city center. Around the hotel there are nearly 60 ways per hour to travel into the city center. The quickest way is by train, which only takes 5 minutes and brings you right in front of Damrak. begins with transport issues. Buses are frequent during the week from a main road five minutes away. Much less frequent in the later evening and at weekends. The hotel has a discount arrangement with a taxi firm which proved reliable, though more difficult to arrange a return trip from town. One local restaurant (open weekdays only) which closes at 8pm.
Our room boasted a sophisticated air-conditioning system which frankly didn't respond to the controls and on one day because we were still showing 'Do Not Disturb' at 10am the room was not serviced - a card through the door told us we'd missed out. [Less]
