New Mexico is full of Native American and Hispanic influences, and is also filled with many historic museums and natural wonders.
In the museum category, there are three you must see — Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Billy the Kid Museum and International UFO Museum. At the first, see more than 1,000 works of art by this famous artist from the 20th century. Billy the Kid was a well-known outlaw during the Old West, and this museum is dedicated to him and his life, showcasing several of his personal items. Last but not least, the International UFO Museum sits in Roswell where supposedly a UFO crashed in 1947. Stop by to check out the eeriness for yourself.
Two other spots to see are the Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Monument. Carlsbad Caverns is the place to observe several underground limestone caves and go on backcountry hikes, while White Sands National Monument is where you’ll see tall white sand dunes and can go on full moon or sunset walks with your significant other.
