"Great stopping point on our trip home from Florida"
We were looking for a full service hotel (restaurant and lounge) north of Savannah, and this was the first one we found in searching along our route (I-95). We were pleased to find this Holiday Inn[More]
at Santee, SC, and it was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very professional. We enjoyed the lounge after a long drive, and although we did not eat dinner there (others had mentioned Clark's nearby, and we decided to try it#, we had the full breakfast the following morning. Another reviewer mentioned hot water was a problem here, but we had no problem with it in the morning - nice, hot shower, decent pressure. Another person mentioned the pool was cold, but there was a sign posted on the front door mentioning that the heater was out of order at this time. We were not there to swim. The reservation clerk was pleasant both on the phone and when we arrived, the bellman who helped us with our bags upon arrival was pleasant, the bartender was pleasant, as well as other staff we met there. Another reviewer mentioned having to pay for coffee; however, there was a free coffee bar in the lobby, and although there was a charge for coffee in the dining area, it was served in a 6-8 cup thermal pot that was left on our table, along with an extra to-go cup with lid! Nice touch! Very happy we chose this hotel for our stay. [Less]
