As a Platinum Priority Club member, I expected much more. There was no breakfast included, no water for being a Priority Club member. I arrived after 6:00 pm and was given a room in a separate building that was very old. (Entrance doors on the outside)
I was teaching a seminar at the hotel and the conference center looked like it had not been painted in years.
Overall, not real happy with this stay.

Basically when I make a reservation it is for a specific type of room in the hotel. Was promised xyz and I received z! When I asked what I could have done different to improve my experience I was told to arrive earlier. Also told me that they often over sale the rooms. Note to travelers: If you get there late 6 pem or after you are treated as a second class citizen. I will not stay here again.

I enjoyed my time spent at this hotel the staff was pleasant and very friendly they made you feel at home. My room was excellent I had a king size the room was neat and clean and very comfortable. I especially love the bathroom I always check that out first when I am staying at hotels. In this case it was very nice nothing out of place pretty colors.
My club had an affair there the accomodations were excellent the food was excellent and the presentation was outstanding the servers were standing by if someone needed something the deserts very tasty. This was my first time staying at the Crowne Plaza but it certainly will not be my last in fact, we will be staying at a different one it May, and I am expecting the same care and comfort that I received in Hickory. All in all everyone had a great time it was a great choice for us to have our event there easy access and location for those coming from other states.

I would recommend Crown Plaza in Hickory NC to anyone. The Crown has pleasant staff, nice rooms and service, and is convenient to anything you may want to do in Hickory, even if its just to relax in your room. Many restaurants within walking distance if you want a change from the hotel restaurant. I would stay again.

There was no Recognition of being a Platinum member and didn't receive an upgrade etc. even when though the Holiday Inn was not fuly occupied. No buffet for breakfast?

The Crowne Plaza in Hickory, NC has one of the most inviting hotel experiences, as I travel in my work each week and stay there almostly monthly for multiple nights. I rarely have any surprises, which is good.
However, on my last visit in February, at check in, I found my rate not correct and Joe at the reception desk quickly made it right and handled the situation with all the professionalism one might expect.
The associates at the Hickory Crowne Plaza are always friendly and accommodating to my needs.
I recommend this older hotel but one in very good repair to both business travelers as myself or families that wish to have a comfortable and pleasant night's stay away from home at a reasonable price.

Room heating and air conditioning unit made extremely loud squeaking noises at times like a bearing in the fan was going out. Mentioned to staff to no avail.
Ordered room service and paid $43 for a cold steak, cold baked potato, no bread, tea with no ice. Bread did not come with the meal but was ordered as a separate item but was never delivered.. Server had to return to kitchen to get correct bill.
The whole experience at this hotel on this visit was nothing like advertised.
This hotel is old and showing its age.
For the most part, the staff was very nice. They just didn't do anything about the problems or my dissatisfaction.
