Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Much better service at the front desk this time. Great improvement from the time before. Front desk service was much better. Friendly, knowledgeable front desk clerk. May 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Review Location: Good. Up on the hill, great neighbourhood. Variety of Restaurant within walking distance. Room: Very cool, great for hot 35 degree heat outside. It was clean with old furnishings. Phone broken, advised front desk of problem. Was advised to play around with buttons to make work but will pass on to maintenance. Wifi: Poor, very slow. Amenitie/Facilities: Did not use other than the free breakfast. Staff: Morning/Evening staff friendly. Afternoon lady, NOT. I arrived at this hotel at approximated 11:30am for check-in. Yes, I am aware that's early however, I've never had a difficult time until this location. The lady advised the check-in time at 3pm. I replied, Okay but even for Priority Club Gold has a check-in time is 3pm? The lady replied yes. I told her that this was the first hotel that turned me down for check-in at a holiday inn hotel and to return for 3pm. I did not appreciate that I had to beg to check-in as I had a long day and needed to sleep. After that she gave me a main floor room. She did not recognize the priority club membership or explain any of the hotel amenities. I doubt I will stay in this location again. There is a Super 8 across the street that's $50 less a night. I am aware there is a Holiday Inn in North Shore, however the location is important to me. May 13, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Less than desirable experience Have stayed here in the past and been very happy with the experience; not so much this time. *The internet connection was poor and didn't work on occasion *There was no hot water when I took my shower in the morning *When I went to use the hot tub in the evening, there was a choir group singing in the pool room, making it unusable. May have to consider other options next time. May 11, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by terrible service The front desk service was terrible. No acknowdgement to being a priority club member. Totally difference service that Vernon's Holiday Inn Express. April 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beds extremely uncomfortable/ other than that excellent Our hockey team stayed here and everyone couldn't stop talking about how uncomfortable the beds were and that we all didn't get a good nights sleep because of it. Other than that, everything is absolutely excellent from the friendly staff , service and breakfast variety. No washer and dryer April 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by All in all a good stay We stayed for 3 nights on points. At check-in we had very efficient service, the reservation papers all ready and waiting and as a Platinum member were upgraded. Unfortunately I did not get the young ladies name, her badge just said ‘Trainer’, but every time meeting her she was very pleasant to deal with. The hotel seemed very busy, and the rooms had been attractively upgraded recently along with flat screen TVs. The only issue with the room, 422, was that the blackout curtains did not close very well and there was a rip in one of them, other than that a very nice room with a fridge, coffee maker, but no microwave. However a microwave was available in the breakfast room and coffee available 24/7 there too. Also a newspaper was delivered every day but Sunday. Breakfast was the typical HI Express which was fine. They also had a basket of apples (+ oranges on the last day) on the way out the front door. It is a good location, just off the freeway but not noisy. There is no restaurant onsite; the one at the far side of the parking lot is closed down, however there are a variety of restaurants available within walking distance. All in all a good stay. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Conveniently located The hotel is nicely appointed and located close to Costco and restaurants. This location is pet friendly. We definitely would stay there again. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied I had my unique experience! Excellent, comforting, welcoming experience in the breakfast area. Cheryl allowed me to use kitchen to wash personal dishes, and always breaking awkward feeling of sitting in a room full of strangers by talking to everyone and making it feel like a community environment. A couple of times I felt less important by reception area by a couple of the ladies, when I asked to be moved from 3rd floor to 4th I was told it was for executive members and was not moved. Then on my 2nd to last day I asked another girl and was moved without question. It would have been nice to have been moved when I first asked we would have had a more relaxing stay! I must say this holiday Inn has a great team of cleaners and the kitchen staff were very friendly! I would recommend that Priority members be told on arrival that you only get chips on night of arrival. As my circumstances changed while in Kamloops. I ended up making 3 new reservation at the same hotel, and when I asked for chips was told in a scolding tone, that chips were only given at time reservation are made and was allowed to take chips, it would have been nice not to feel uncomfortable! All in all the room was comfortable, cleaning/kitchen staff, and 1/2 the reception area are friendly, welcoming, helpful! March 4, 2013
