Very nice hotel. Recharged my batteries after visit to rural Ukraine. Good location within 5 minute walk of Metro stop. Helpful staff. Arranged for taxi to airport at 4am and for reservation at restaurant the evening before as I do not speak Russian or Ukrainian.

I do not understand how it could be possible but the following is true. There is no slippers and bathrobe in the standard room of a 4* Holliday Inn but they are available FOR SALE at the reception???!!!

I just want to say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The location is excellent, the food is top notch, the hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff, especially the concierge are just wonderful!

During one day trip from Holiday Inn Kiev, we are missing my purse (with money) and iPhone, even though we finally found such private goods from private loundry bag in my laggage, your staffs rejected to check in the safe which provided in the previous room we stayed at one day before. Next day morning after non-sleeping night, staffs report me that the safe is opened without request my witness.
Other disadvantage of Holiday Inn Kiev, (1) 2/3 of city taxi drivers did not know the location of Holiday Inn Kiev (6 dirives of 8 using taxis). (2) the charge for arrangement of sightseeing tour, about 40% higher than the direct contact with tour company. (3) although I hold the ambassador gold membar ship, nothing arrangement of up grading services without free one cup of beer at bar. (4) no amenities at toilet/bath.

I chose this hotel for my last night in Ukraine before the flight home, figuring an American brand, that is the "known", would be the most carefree option. After a slightly confusing few moments locating the entrance (it is not directly at the corner address given, but down the side street with discreet signage), we walked in and immediately relaxed. The design is clean and modern, the desk staff warm and efficient with excellent English. Even the ride up to our room was relaxing. They post a quote of the day in the elevator, which somehow personalized our stay and made us feel even more welcome.
The neighborhood is old and charming, with a gorgeous, significant cathedral near the hotel. The designer of the room cleverly chose a detail from the cathedral facade as a decorative element on the wall. The room was more than sufficient in every way. Very comfortable bed and clean, well-designed bath. We ordered room service for dinner, and happily there were some Ukrainian dishes on the menu. Payment was required when the food arrived--that was a slightly awkward surprise, but not a deal breaker. We ate like it was Thanksgiving--the portions were huge!
After a peaceful night, we found the breakfast buffet ample and what you would expect in a European hotel. Paying for breakfast when booking the room saves money. The desk staff told us how much a car to the central train station should cost and ordered a taxi for us, which was waiting out front when we left. From beginning to end, our stay was effortless, economical and comfortable. After a week out in the wilds of Ukraine, it felt like a palace. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Kiev and wish them every success.

A new hotel in this catergorie should have a powerful F&B Manager who takes care of the staff. Especially in the first 6-12 month. In zour hotel it looks like you found a super chief cook but no F&B who is able to tech the service staff the right way. The staff is very nice but they have no idea how to work, it is not their fault it is a matter of miss management.
Reception is ok.
