For a 'budget' hotel, this exceeded our expectations. From the welcome at check-in to the lovely, comfortable room with views over the river, we were very happy. Bright and clean bathroom and excellent shower. Breakfast was more than adequate, with plenty to choose from. We will return.

Stayed for one night when going to a gig at the Echo arena, couldn't be more convenient, less than 5 mins walk. Really happy with the hotel, very friendly welcome, the building itself is fascinating, our room was fantastic (207) with lovely views across Albert Dock to the Pierhead, it was immaculately clean as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and at 8.30 there were no shortages. The bar area is very comfortable. We'll certainly stay here again.

We found the hotel in an ideal location for exploring the area round the docks. Lovely view from our window. Close to good restaurants and shops. Friendly staff eager to help. Altogether a pleasant experience. Only two minor issues. 2 chairs in a room for 2 people would have been even better... and the wi-fi connection was a bit frustrating... but it didn't spoil a great weekend. Thank you.

We were a group of 43 in 22 rooms and everything was perfect at the check-in as the staff was very professional and willing to help at all times. rooms so clean and huge, room window views amazing, housekeepers brilliant, location couldn´t be better, breakfast wasn´t as outstanding as everything else but could do.
The only thing we don´t understand is why such a big hotel has only 2 lifts taking account that reception is on 2nd floor.

that I paid £5 for an improved wireless connection that was essentially still so slow as to be non-functional!
Holiday Inn shouldn't be charging customers for something that does not work.
Other than this, I had a very pleasant night's stay.

We have just returned from a weekend break at your hotel where we had a great time.
We chose the holiday inn express rather than the holiday inn hotel for the setting and we were not disapointed since we looked out onto a view of the docks. The room was spacious and very clean. All staff were extremely poilite and helpful and freely gave advice related to local attractions.
The breakfast was more than ample since we were not expecting a full English breakfast.
I would definately reccommend the hotel to all my friends and would return and stay here again on my next visit to Liverpool.
Thanks once again to all the staff at the hotel for makiing our stay so enjoyable.

Hotel is attractive, room clean and spacious with very comfortable bed. Great location, only disappointment was breakfast not a massive choice and too small plates for cooked breakfast.

Being a London based Liverpool FC fan, I've stayed in several hotels in Liverpool, this one however was head and shoulders above the rest. We had an amazing view from our room over the docks through our floor to ceiling window. The room itself was huge, plenty big enough to relax with a cup of tea after a day's site seeing. Great location, was round the corner from 'The Beatles Story', restuarants, museums and shops. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff, a nice bar with Sky sports. Loved it, fab weekend, reasonable price too given it was Grand National weekend also.

My four children and I stayed here over Easter.
The fabric of the building is an old Victorian commercial building. It has been converted extremely tastefully and the blend of modern hotel verses historic warehouse is just perfect. The natural brickwork that has been maintained gives the hotel true character. The very large room size made our stay very comfortable and the window view over Albert Dock was beautiful at all times of day. The room was very clean and well equiped. The location, right on Albert Dock, put us right in the centre of a community that was just perfect for a city visit. My kids are still talking about it!! I will definitely return!

Staff helpful arrived early and were given disabled parking the
room was ample in size although it was bitterly cold outside (March 2013) when all the snow came it was warm and cosy.
Had read some reviews about breakfast but there was ample choice.
Would return and are planning early summer as it was too cold in March!

Beautiful setting and very clean. Staff very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. I would have liked more tea/coffee, milk etc available in the room, but only had to ask and we were given more. Disappointed with hot breakfast choices, only sausage scrambled eggs and beans.

My wife and I stayed here at the Holiday Inn Express at the Albert Dock for an ad hoc weekend away last week and were very pleased with the location, value for money and excellent staff who were very attentive and friendly.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in a central location with good opportunities for dining close by and if you are wanting to go to the Echo stadium you could not be better placed.

A lovely hotel, perfect position for our needs, staff wonderful, and whole hotel decor and lay out excellent.
Biggest let down is the breakfast, we have stayed in several Holiday Inns and enjoyed a breakfast that has kept us going all day, not this time. Sausage, Scrambled Egg and Beans, fruit yogurts or toast.
Breakfast in The Holiday Inn used to compromise of a full buffet selection, the hotel was full too, so nothing could be said about being quiet time

My wife & I made a return visit to Liverpool in order to see the Museum of Liverpool, our room overlooked Albert Dock & the Three Graces which was quite impressive in itself. The room was very spacious & comfortable on the 4th Floor. The Hotel is well positioned for all of the attractions of this wonderful city, being a mere 10 minutes walk from Pier Head, The Three Graces, Museum of Liverpool etc.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay there on what was 3 very cold days, but the hotel was very adequately heated throughout without being stiflingly hot & would thoroughly recommend it for visiting Liverpool & its attractions.

The Hotel is very quiet and let you relax, room are very comfortable and clean, maybe it's a little bit too hot, but you can fix opening windows. His logistic is the best, especially if you want to have a Beatles experience (my window was above the Beatles Museum) or visit Tate Gallery; it's 5 min. walking to the City Centre and in front of the Hotel there is Echo Arena and The Liverpool Eye.

We booked last minute, we had booked into hard days night hotel, but due to a fire and not finding out the day we were due to go it was the next best hotel. We thought the location was excellent and we had a lovely view of Albert dock. Everything was spotless in the room, we enjoyed the breakfast. We plan to stay again later in the year. Right by the Beatles story , Magical Mystery tour bus , the Duckmarine tour and within a 10 Minute walk to the Cavern club and Liverpool one shopping centre which is well worth a visit .

stayed for 3 nights, didn't really see much of the staff, but of those i did they were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a short break, great location too.

Ideal location in Albert Dock area, great for Museum of Liverpool, Liverpool Wheel and good base for shopping. Stayed in a family room which was ideal for our one night stay. Complimentary breakfast also included, making the stay good value.

Fabulous view from the window but uncomfortable beds - both beds as it was a twin room. Poor security; reception is located on the second floor and the entrance foyer is open until 11pm. We returned from dinner at 10pm to find a group of people just lounging around on the sofas in the foyer, they were not guests, they had just come in to shelter from the cold. As there is no staff or security guards down there, they can do exactly that and can also access the lifts and consequently other floors and areas in the hotel as all the doors are open; they have no security measures of any kind on them. It also meant that there were young people running around the corridors shouting, unchecked, for a large part of the night. Add to this the fire alarm on the first night of our stay and the hen party on our second night and you get two nights of very little sleep.
Being a former sugar warehouse, the hotel is large and has many rooms but only two small, slow lifts. Surely this presents an access issue to anyone with any kind of disability, illness or weakness? It certainly means there is a lot of standing around, waiting for the lifts.
The staff were friendly and did their best but were clearly overworked and there were too few of them.
Breakfast was underwhelming; choice was somewhat limited. I would not stay there again.
