Very accommodating and helpful staff almost made up for the run down room. Hotel in need of updating.

We always choose this Holiday Inn when we visit St. Louis. The location is perfect for South St. Louis area plus also perfect to visit downtown St. Louis. The staff is always very accommodating. The holidome is a lot of fun for the entire family.

I always have mixed emotions about this hotel. I like the on site bar and restaurant for those days I don't feel like venturing out. There was promise of a new menu but haven't seen it yet.
In general the rooms are clean, however on my last trip I let them know at the desk that the couch in the room was filthy. It should be removed. I wonder if it was.
The bar and restaurant staff are great and friendly. Tip them well.

Traveling with children is always a challenge, but Holiday Inn makes it easier. This hotel was wonderful for keeping the kids occupied and giving us a chance to relax a little. The common area with a pool, hot tub and video games was the perfect place to relax in the evening and let the kids burn off energy. The rooms were spacious and clean; beds comfortable. This hotel is older, but is has been maintained well. The breakfast buffet in the morning is not free, but not too expensive. It was nothing special, but the old standards were offered.
We originally booked a competitors hotel nearby, but were unhappy after our first night. I am pleased that I was able to book the Holiday Inn and it made up for my initial disappointment.

The only concern is that they should have a refrigeratin the room Otherwise I would bring family also. Liked Holidome and smoking room

We had a very enjoyable stay and my kids loved it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The kids loved the play area and it was a great help that there was a shallow pool as well as a big pool (making it easier for little kids to play). The staff went out of their way to do some helpful things, like giving the kids some cookies when it wasn't yet cookie time and accommodating our vegetarianism even though the menu didn't have vegetarian options for adults (which is not uncommon, but many places are not willing to be so accommodating). The indoor pool area is very pleasant and it was an easy drive into the city for business because of the close proximity to the freeway. Our room wasn't flashy or modern, but it was very pleasant and comfortable and the kids loved being able to look out the window at the pool.
