Some previous reviews had commented on the noise of remodeling and the old mattresses. I made it a point to ask for one of the renovated rooms and found it to be excellent.
The new decor is great, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotless. One half of that floor was still curtained off while they finished the rooms there, but there was no construction noise that I could hear.
The famous Holiday Inn free breakfast was great and they've added some new choices. The staff was friendly and helpful.
It's tough to keep a hotel operating while doing major improvements to the rooms, but if my stay was any indication, the final product will be worth it.
Oh, and it is a little tricky to get in and out of the business park that houses the hotel - some-one way access roads. Just read the directions or check with the front desk.

This was the first of what has turned out to be a trip that will be repeated a couple of times per year and could be for years to come. I will be finding a new hotel in the Richmond area. I was greeted by Josh at the front desk upon our arrival. I have never felt more unwelcome. I guess we were an inconvenience for him. He asked to see my government ID upon which I displayed my military ID Card. He stated “Well I guess that would be good enough”. I could go on my feelings about that statement! So anyway, I will be finding a new hotel for when we return. A hotel where they feel my Military ID is more than just good enough and one where they will appreciate that we have a choice.

We stayed in a king suite and the room was just perfect. Clean, comfortable bed, roomy. Staff was very polite. Free breakfast was a plus also. Would certainly return when in the area again.

We stayed here with a wedding party and although there were quite a few of us staying there, we still felt as though we were tended to promptly. There was personal attention given to us as well as others in our party. The bride and groom were given special attention, which was wonderful, because it made them feel special on thier day. I would recommend others to this hotel for this reason, as well as the cleanliness. Everything was pressed and in its place. The sheets were freshly cleaned and smelled nice. I appreciate the cleaning staff being "on top of thier game". Thank you for an enjoyable stay Holiday Inn :)

This hotel is way over priced. The hotel staff cant be bothered with any type of need or questions. I stayed here for two nights and couldnt believe how poorly this hotel is run. Yes even the upper mangement. They do not go out of the way for their customers. I stayed with a group and there were many unhappy customers.

WE GOT THERE AFTER 3 PM.NO ROOMS WERE READY.WE LEFT FOR OVER 1 HOUR.WHEN WE RETURNED.ROOMS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.WHEN WE GOT THE ROOMS BOTH DOORS WERE OPEN.THERE WERE NO TOWELS IN THE ROOMS.CALLED FRONT DESK WAS TOLD TOWELS WILL BE SENT UP.THE TOWELS WERE DAMP AS IF TAKEN OUT OF DRYER TO SOON.WE WERE NOT PLEASED WITH OUR STAY!

I had no idea the hotel was being renovated, they were removing bathroom tiles on the floor above mine. I flew into Richmond and had to catch an early morning flight which caused me not to sleep the night before so I was exhausted and looking forward to going to bed at checkin, that's wasn't the case. Had I known hotel was being renovated I would've stayed at another hotel. I tried to be understanding but the noise was terrible. I ended up leaving hotel for the day, was told that renovations would end at 6:00pm, so I returned after 6.

As Platinum Member, we get a large suite but the bed was the worse I've slept on. Sheets pulled out and bunched up under us, mattress pad lumpy, all contributed to 2 bad nights of sleep. Room is big but bed is bad.
