Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Poor overall experience
- From 5 to 6 am staff starts preparing breakfast, and given the architecture of the hotel it gets very noisy in the room. I went outside, talked to the guys asking them to be less noisy, but obviously nothing changed. Really bad when you go that far just to relax.
- I found the restaurant experience just about average but definitely not Intercontinental standard

hello,
the room pricing doesn't make sense at all. the room prices are based on the floor level and view. I got a premium room on 3rd floor with side view of the slopes. How come other hotel guests get rooms on 5th floor with full view of the slops and we're paying exactly the same?
I also purchased dinner (supposedly you had buffet dinner), but you only provided a 40$ discount on my dining bill (that doesn't include beverages!!).
You also charged 20,000 LL for valet without my notice. I don't mind paying, but at least inform me.
I've been to far better hotels abroad.
Given the location and facilities you have, the stay could've been way better...

before we decided to go to Mazaar and spend couple days there with the family I read all the reviews about the place and was very reluctant to what to expect. To my pleasant surprise everything was beyond expectations and more. I received a very accomodating welcome from the staff. As a platinum member I received the room upgrade I usualy get. The rooms were very comfortable and reasonably spacious. The hotel is gorgeous inside and outside and to top it all the breakfast buffet, which was included in the room price, was outstanding and a pride of the known lebanese food variety. The only akward incident was not from the hotel itself but from a bunch of roudy impolite guests that made a lot of noise at 4 am, but the hotel management handled the situation and took care of the problem.
I highly recommend this hotel during skiing season.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rayb1 Far from being an Intercontinental!
I am in the Priority Club program so I have visited many Intercon throughout the world and I am so surprised to see that this property has the Intercontinental logo.
The surroundings and the location are quite exceptional but there are a lot of efforts to be made to keep up with the prestigious Intercon reputation.
First of all, the rooms and public spaces decoration are too old especially the furniture. I am aware that we are in a ski resort but still, it is suppose to be the best one in Lebanon and at around 500$ a night, you except way much more. I had a Studio Suite located in the (suppose) renovated wing; if they call this renovation, please don’t take me to the non-renovated rooms!
Even though the staff is quite helpful and nice, I got woke up in the early morning by the housekeeping staff that was shouting on each other in the hallway.
The hallways are dirty and during my short stay I noticed that garbage (bottles, cans, tray) are simply left on the floor.
The staff isn’t really trained except maybe for the front office.
The waiters at the Lobby Lounge are fast and efficient but the atmosphere isn’t up to the standards of a 5 stars resort.
For example, we had a drink before going out to dinner, the lights were lit to the max and no candles were placed on the tables.
When we got back, we were surprised to notice that it stayed exactly the same though it was around midnight and many people were still having a drink. A very bad music was playing too loud, a kind of music you would listen in a supermarket or in an elevator.
In overall, especially the decoration and the furniture (which in my opinion need a complete change), you feel that some important efforts have to be made in order to change the feeling of someone’s stay in this property.
After all, hospitality is in the details…isn’t it?!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Angryskier Very Disappointing Experience
Room rates are extremely high although we booked 2 months in advance, and the information we were given upon reservation and the ones on the website are misleading. After calling the reservation agent and after she explained that it is impossible to guarantee 2 connecting rooms SHE suggested to book the family room for 4 which we did. The information on the website also confirms that it is a room for up to 4 persons without mentioning anything else. Upon check out we had to pay for the extra bed because the room is for 3 pax only!!! The persons at the reception upon check out were very rude and did not even accept to discuss the situation.
What is also disappointing is the internet usage charge. Where in the world hotels still charge for internet ??? Guests of Mzaar Intercon have to pay by the hour for internet, even in the lobby.
Add to this the parking charges. Despite the room rates guests still have to pay extremely expensive parking. We travel a lot and all the five stars hotels wave the parking charges for in house guests.
Unfortunately our stay at Mzaar Intercontinental was very disappointing although we love to come back home for skiing. Next time we would rather go to Europe or even stay at home in Beirut and drive to the slopes every day.

I am a Gold Priority Club member and I stay in Intercon hotels at least once per month, so needless to say, we usually get treated quite well when staying in Intercon hotels.
When we arrived at Mzaar, we did not get any sort of acknoledgement or special treatment. We did not get free internet, or a room upgrade or anything. In fact when I called to ask for internet they said that we had to pay and that even if we are Gold members it doesn't make a difference. I requested a king size bed and not 2 beds pushed together, which is what we ended up getting. The mattress was terrible, it was hard and the pillows were flat. There was a bed side light missing from the wall, the coffee machine was broken, the balcony doors did not open, and generally the room was in need of a serious face lift.
I am not suggesting that we should always get something for free, but at least a decent room would be nice
I would not recommend Intercon Mzaar, I would however highly recommend Intercon Phonecia, along with all the other Intercons that I have stayed in.
We stayed at Phonecia 2 days later and the stay was fabulous.....free room upgrade, free internet, and the room was beautiful and perfectly maintained.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NotImportant Charging me for coffee and then the manager did not bother to listen to my complain.
I was disappointed with the way the Front Desk handled my complain.
My wife had requested for some coffee capsules from the front desk which was provided, and at the time of check out I was surprised to be billed 8 USD for such a commonly provided item in most of the Interconn's that i had used in my days.
I had complained and I had asked to talk to the Manager. The lady at the front desk disappeared and then came back to tell me that he is busy. She said "he is busy he can not talk to you" , she said "he has someone in his office". I was astonished by this attitude.
At least he could have come out to listen to me. I was very frustrated. I will never go back to this facility ever.
