We made two trips to the mayo at different times and have used this motel both times. The staff is great, the prices good, not too far from the Mayo. We used the skyway and the subway, and after we realized we could get a map had no trouble getting around. The rooms are very clean and quiet. the biggest surprise was how good and reasonable the restaurant was! The $20 voucher we got for breakfast was sufficient for the two of us, you just can't use it for the tax or tip, and that was all we usually paid. We were grateful the motel usually had wheelchairs we could use, and didn't realize we might need one. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

For my husband and me, the location of the Holiday Inn Convention Center is great. We are in Rochester to attend the Mayo Clinic and find this hotel covers all our needs too as a hotel.
When you have clinic appointments, you have a certain amount of stress and aren't in a particular party mood or celebratory mood either so this works well for us giving us a quiet, comfortable room.
Also, it is close to our favorite Rochester restaurants.
The one thing I miss, though is having a make-up mirror in the bathroom. Non of the other hotels supply these mirrors either which is bad.

On a cool, dreary night, the Holiday inn offered me comfort and hospitality that could rival many grandmothers. I would stay here again, if nothing more than for a chance at nostalgia.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights while attending a convention in the Mayo Civic Center. It was very handy to be so close to the Civic Center and to be connected by skyway. Service was great and the room was clean, roomy and comfortable. We had the breakfast rate and that worked very well in the mornings. We were able to order off the menu and that started our day off with a good hot meal. The shower was cold for the first few minutes each day but then warmed up. That was our only negative and wasn't worth asking about since it did warm up. I would certainly stay here again!

To start the room was wrong that they put us in then they sent us to another room, which was still wrong. We book a King Juquzzi Suite, Come to find out they dont have any of those, along with not Hot Tub, Workout Room. Then we had to pay $12 for parking, should be paid for with room. Room service was horrible, came to our room when we were getting ready and I asked them to come back later and never did. Then both mornings we went to breakfast we were left standing for 10 mins waiting to be seated and both servers just walked pasted us like they were extremly busy with the 2 tables they had a peice. The food took 25 mins to come out and was wrong both days and cold, the male server we had blamed it on the new cook. They charged us for stuff that shouldnt be charged if they new the menu. Then we tried the bar the first night and it was closed by 11pm, the second night we got there @ 10 and the Bartender was pushing us out like he didnt wasnt us to be there, which was bad for him cuz I am a bartender and I tip HUGE!!! So instead of staying we brought a couple drinks back to the room. Gotta say Woody was was a bad Bartender. So all in all a HORRIBLE place to stay for what they charge!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!

This is our second stay at the Holiday Inn in downtown Rochester and we have had a very pleasant experience both times. The hotel rooms are a nice size, comfortable with nice amenities. The walk to the Mayo Clinic buildings, shopping and restaurants is climate controlled and well lit. The only complaint is not knowing how late in the day room service will appear. The first day, they were there by about 11:00am, the second day it was 4:00pm. All the staff we interacted with (front desk, restaurant, bar, housekeeping) couldn't have been nicer. We would definitely stay here again.
