There's lots of great things about this hotel and a few little problems, none of which should keep you from staying here if you get a good price or the hotel is convenient to where you want to be. Among the great things: super friendly staff who greet you warmly when you check in and look up to say hello every time you walk by (this is an improvement from last year). A free beer or bottle of water when you check in. Free ice cream in the lobby every evening. A pretty good breakfast (if you stick with the cold stuff) and a free newspaper. Free wifi. And the hotel is clean and quite. In particular, this is one of the few hotels where you don't hear doors slamming up and down the hallways. Somehow, they've managed to quiet their doors. On the small list of things to improve: bathroom cups and coffee cups in the room weren't replenished after being used. No fresh fruit one morning at breakfast. Various kinds of "eggs" that didn't taste like eggs. Or like anything. A toaster that took 5 minutes to make a piece of toast (long lines and folks who gave up). Slow wifi that often dropped the connection. And one thing that Holiday Inn itself cannot fix. Although the location is convenient to lots of area attractions, it is annoying to get to. The left hand turn from Bruce B Downs Blvd can take several light cycles and as long as ten minutes. Add to this the timing of the light coming off of 275 south and just getting into the hotel can take 10-15 minutes longer than you expect. Overall, nice place to stay if you need to stay in the area. To me, there is no better place to stay in the Tampa Area at any price. Plenty of shopping, dining and a movie theater. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice place We stayed at a number of motels on our recent trip to Florida. Yours was by far the best place we stayed. The clerks at the desk were very friendly when we arrive and introduced themselves and told us to call on them if we had any questions. Instead of only offering water to us they had two kinds of beer that we could select for being a Priority club member. We were invited to an ice cream event that evening. There were place mats on the tables in the breakfast room the next morning and also a Saturday newspaper(that is unusual since papers are only there from Mon thru Friday.so they gave us a local paper instead). We were impressed with your motel and hope to spend some time there the next time we are in Florida. Thank you for the good service. March 7, 2013

AS PRIORITY PLATINUM MEMBERS WE WERE OFFERED A COLD BEER UPON ARRIVAL. THAT WAS A FIRST FOR A HOTEL! THEN, WE WERE TOLD THEY HAD FREE ICE CREAM IN THE LOBBY FROM 8-10:. THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE BEDS ARE A DREAM! BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND RELAXED. THEY EVEN HAD PLACEMATS ON THE TABLES. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The location wasn't great but the Hotel was very Good We are a couple in our late 50's and we wanted a relaxing holiday near beaches and places of interest.We were not interested in crowds or Theme Parks..We wanted to explore the Tampa area for 3 days before driving down to Naples. The Hotel was located quite a distance inland from Down Town Tampa ,the West Coast Beaches and St Petersburg. There was alot of traffic and intersections with lights .We spent far too much time in the car driving to places of interest and the coast rather than being outside enjoying the sunshine. It was well located for Bush Gardens though which was near by. We left after 2 days and headed south early. There was a shortage of places to sit outside near the pool and enjoy the sunshine. Also the lack of suitable eateries near by and no wine or beer on offer spoiled the evenings. We would hae been better finding a Hotel with a bar,kitchenette and evening snacks. Having said that the staff were very pleasant and the bed was comfortable.Although the pool was small it was heated and sheltered. February 18, 2013

I stay in Crowne Plaza's, HI's and Holiday Inn Expresses all over the state, but this is the best one overall that I have ever visited! Very friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay and Staff - We will come again This was our family's first visit to Tampa and bringing 3 children (6, 4, and 2) is always an adventure. The hotel staff here was very helpful. The breakfast staff was especially special, saying no problem when me 2 year old dumped a cup of milk on the floor., or bringing my children coloring sheets and crayons, or even turning on cartoons for them during breakfast. A special thanks to Nichole who took the time to go over each of the food items served because of our dietary restrictions. My kids were so excited to find out that they were able to eat so much of the food! She was so knowledgeable and friendly I wish she could be at every hotel we ever went too! The manager came to our table to ask about our stay which was a nice personal touch. I think my husband has been planning the next trio to Tampa just so we could stay in the hotel again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Our family visited the Tampa area over the New Years holiday for a sports tournament. The rooms and facility were very clean and well kept. The location is great, easy access I-75. Many places to eat, shop (and even a theater you can walk to). The staff was super! I had read the reviews prior to the trip but did not think the staff could live up to the "press". The entire staff was very courteous, but the front desk excelled. Thank you for a great visit. Overall condition of Hotel was very good. We were unhappy with our 1st room as it was too close to one of the few smoking rooms. This was quickly corrected. This is an example how motivated staff are in view of their high customer satisfaction ratings. Ranks highest on TripAdvisor for this area of Tampa in customer satisfaction at this time. I vote for softer beds and windows that open but I realize this was Florida and preferential in general. We stayed here two weeks visiting family. January 8, 2013

Breakfast was great every day - very good variety - there was something for everyone. Also, in addition to being right off I-75, this location is close to a number of restaurants and shops. I have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express in the past but this location far exceeded my already high expectations. Great job taking care of your guests and making them feel at home away from home! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expected more for the price For the price I was expecting a little more. I have kids and was expecting the room to have a microwave and refrigerator. I brought this to the front desk and was told none of the rooms had a microwave or refrigerator. When we went past a room we noticed it had those amenties. I brought it to the front desk and was told only suites had these amenties. If I had known this in the beginning I would have upgraded to the suite, because again having kids those amenties a family needs. I also did not like the maid service vacumming the hallways at 9:00 am. As far as breakfast I prefer the waffle machine to the pancake machine. I stayed 3 nights and the pancake machine was broken or the pancakes came out tough or to dark. January 4, 2013

They even remembered us when we checked in for our 2nd visit. Property is very clean, great location, great value and even free ice cream each day. I would highly recommend this hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had a wonderful stay! My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during Thanksgiving week when in the Tampa area to visit family. We wanted to be close to Zephyrhills where our family lives, yet also close enough to the coast and all the attractions we wanted to enjoy. We picked the perfect place! Very easy to get to from the Tampa airport. Everyone who worked there greeted us with a smile and were very friendly and accommodating. George, the general manager, was in the breakfast room each and every morning greeting and talking to the guests...very special touch! He greeted us on our first morning there and made sure we were happy and comfortable. I also liked that his personal cell number was posted throughout the hotel in case we had problems, very nice...although I can't imagine anyone having complaints about this place. The hotel was very clean and quiet, pool area very nice (although too cold while we were there to do much swimming). The breakfast is a typical Holiday Inn Express breakfast, they changed it up a bit each day. The location also great, within walking distance of a movie theatre, restaurants and shopping. Definitely a great place to stay in the area, and we would stay there again and definitely recommend to other people! We were not disappointed. November 27, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Second time at this hotel-Not quite as good As a Priority Member who stays at a Holiday Inn Express one to two times per week on business I have become quite familiar with this brand. For the money I feel you can't beat the value. My first visit was great, while the second seemed to be lacking. The front desk person(who was nice) did not know the area at all. No free water this time around(some of the Holiday Inn Express give water, beer, popcorn and candy). I was informed they were out. The room could have used some cosmetic work. The faucet was very loose. The A/C cover fell off in my hand. I informed front desk the next morning and the gentleman was quite receptive and said he would inform someone. November 19, 2012
