Staff friendly and helpful as ever, changed my room to my lliking without hesitation. Thank you.
However, the BIG minus - all the fruitsalad and ready pealed/sliced grape fruit were replaced by meatballs. Meatballs next to the gray rather tastless mini frankfurters and army style ready scrambled eggs - how about some fresh sunny side up style eggs for a change.
So there is no fruit possibilty, execpt those full and unpealed, anymore. Have experienced the trend with IHG is to have fruit salads and cubed various melons, ready sliced orange/grape fruit, which I guess is welcomed by many visitors.
Why to take a step back? Is this what IHG wants from a Holiday Inn? Talked this over with the staff and it was stated it was a decision of local hotel management.
Is a fruit salad at breakfast too much to ask?

Room and furniture outdated, worn and ugly. Breakfastroom badly organized (dirty dishes not removed) most foods finished or almostt finished.

I stayed one night and got the room 201 just above the restaurant area. In practice this means that the evening was noisy. It finally got relatively silent at midnight.
The room was slightly worn - nothing really significant but many visitors have left their marks. The curtains were not properly on the rails, making it hard to blind out the spring light.
Room was on the small side of the scale, and lacked any kind of window view (Backyard corner).
My client paid the bill for me, this made the standard acceptable. However, had I paid the bill myself, it would have been a dissappointment. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to a friend or a colleaque.

This hotel is a real gem. Ideally located in Tampere, close to the railway station, Tampere Talo and the university.
The rooms are comfortable and spotless.
The sauna and whirlpool is great.
The staff are excellent.
Don't forget to try the Tampere local delicacy of Musta Makara at breakfast with red berry sauce.
I have stayed here both on business and for pleasure and I will return again and again!

The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast had good variety of food and plenty of it. Staff are excellent.
