I truly appreciated the kind words and assistant that Donna, the evening front desk staff member gave me on a road trip last week. It was late in the evening and raining so hard. I made it to my destination of Arcola but soon realized there was no Holiday Inn Express in Arcola. Apparently, I was confused. I called the phone # I had and I talked with Donna. She informed me that I had passed the motel by 10 miles. I turned around and start heading back and I called Donna again to verify that they did have my reservation. She had it right in front of her. She was awaiting my arrival. It was comforting to arrive and to be taken care of by the staff. I felt safe. This experience was so welcoming that once I continued on my way for the day down state, upon turning around to head back home, I decided to stop at Tuscola again for the evening. Which was a wise move because the storms were incredible that evening. Again I felt safe. Thank you

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the last year. The staff has been very attentive and welcomes me back by name each visit. If I have had an issue (and have only had to make two requests in 11 visits) the staff has attended to it immediately. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff is very helpful.
My only suggestion is with the breakfast; there is not a lot of variety if you are staying for more than one day, it does get a bit monotonous, also being diabetic it would be nice if there were some lower sugar and low-carb options, it would be nice if there was different fruit options, bananas every day gets boring. But I did appreciate the fridge in the room (in the king bedroom), so I can purchase my own groceries.

Over the years I have chosen to stay at Holiday Inns whenever possible when I travel. Holiday has always maintained a high level of customer service, cleanliness and professionalism. This stay was no different. At a time when many businesses have cut corners and lowered their standards Holiday stands out as a "class-act". This locations offers many amenities and the hot breakfast gave my wife and me a great start for the day. Thanks to the staff at Tuscola! We will be back soon.

My husband and I stay quite often at the Holiday Inn Express.
This is the first one that didn't have a frig and micro in the room. When I asked why, was told that they only came in the rooms with king size beds. Also, being a rewards member we usually get a little gift when we check in. Meaning water, pretzels, etc. None here. Yet, the price was the same as the night before when we had the gift, frig and micro.

Room was very clean except for the shower head. The queen beds were huge! Everything in the room and the public parts of the hotel seemed in great condition/new. The heating/cooling worked great and was quiet.
We were right off the interstate and didn't hear a thing. In fact there was a noisy bunch in the lobby and we didn't hear them either. Couldn't hear other tv's or anything. It was GREAT! I've stayed in more expensive hotels before that you could hear your neighbors this location wasn't like that at all.
I liked that the pillows were marked soft and firm.
The only issue I had was that one of the beds was very soft, I didn't realize this till the next morning since there were 3 of us I didn't bother checking the other bed. This caused me to have a rough nights sleep.
Didn't know if this was normal that one was firm and the other soft.

TheHotel was easy to find and located to the Outlet Mall which was great for shopping. Very clean hotel with all the standard utilities such as a pool and breakfast and business office. Would stay again if in the area.

We stay at Holiday Inns quite often and always ask about pet policy as I have an allergy to pet dander. Upon check in, we asked and were told by the desk clerk on duty that animals are allowed but only on the back end of the 1st floor and since we were booked on the 3rd floor, there would be no encounter. Wrong. Upon coming down for breakfast on the 2nd morning of our stay, a man left the room 2 doors from us with 2 dogs and got on the elevator which we declined to take due to my allergy. Upon checking with the then on duty desk clerk, we were told there were no restrictions as to where pets were allowed. Manager was not there so I called manager after we arrived back home and all I got was, "I'm sorry". I am sorry too because I won't stay at this Holiday Inn again and because of the attitude, I won't recommend it either. I was very disappointed in the response by the manager. It seems the animals take precedent over the humans.
