Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs some improvement The facility is nice and so are the rooms.However, the lighting in the rooms are controlled by one switch which makes it impossible to adjust the lighting in the rooms, except in the bathroom. There were 4 lights in the bedroom which made it extremely uncomfortable. I had to loosen the light bulb in one of the hanging lamps and turn off one of the wall sconce. We were there 5 nights and only got fresh towels once (because I requested them) AND our trash cans were never emptied. Smoking area is by the front entrance of the hotel, where all the guests enter. They need to move that to another area. We were there because my husband has cancer and was having surgery at MD Anderson. We probably won't be staying there anymore. It would also be nice if the rooms had 2 double beds or king size beds. April 25, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Value for the Area We have stayed at this Candlewood before and appreciate the discount pricing for M.D. Anderson patients. The rooms were very clean with an unusual but nice layout for the kitchen, bed and HD TV. Refrigerator was large and bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we had several cons: We needed to bring our small dog on this trip and were shocked by the added pet fee (3X of normal fees). The room air conditioners in both rooms were very noisy. The common hallways needed to be vacuumed. Access to the hotel is bizarre. It is hard to find since it is set well off Main street which is divided and VERY busy. Leaving the hotel on Main street northbound (toward M.D. Anderson) is a challenge because of the extremely heavy northbound traffic. Accessing the hotel southbound requires cutting through a Taco Bell parking lot. Strange, but OK once you get the hang of it. March 31, 2016

My only complaint is you cannot turn off the kitchenette ceiling light without turning off the lights in the whole suite or vice-versa. Please put the kitchenette ceiling light on a separate switch. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for any occasion not knowing how long we were going to need the facility, i was assured by the onsite manager that all i had to do was inform them of our expected stay and they would accommodate us to the best of their abilities. To me that was very assuring and really gave me a feeling of relief knowing that we would be taken care of by a staff that was very professional and showed their concern for our comfort in our time of need. we will definitely look forward to revisiting your facility on our next scheduled appointment.
