Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Again staying at the Intercontinental: 10 glorious days! I came back to San Francisco a few days ago, after another delightful days at the Intercontinental in Manila. Since I had spent days the previous month, I felt very happy to be able to return. The Staff, as I have said many times before, continues to make sure that you feel "at home and with no worries". The Prince Albert restaurant is there to make us enjoy a unique and perfect dinner, and now with a new French Chef, everything related to food "brings us to Paradise". The "brunch" for breakfast, the TEA in the afternoon and the unique perfect food at the "evening cocktails" are beyond description: totally excellent. To avoid repetition, the comfortable suite, the delightful unique swimming pool, the "environment" of the hotel, the food and the Club Intercontinental are "the place to be". I do take this opportunity to AGAIN and AGAIN congratulate the Staff and the Managers for making us guests enjoy a very rare nowadays time at "the home away from home". Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Credit card issues While checking in I was told they will block about 50k pesos. Later j find they have blocked 300k. I was to stay for 22 odd Days. I had some change of plans and had to check out early. While checking out they didn't reverse the blocked amount. Which resulted in my credit card over shooting my limit and that caused a lot for inconvenience. I had to call the hotel 5-6 times to get it sorted August 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Noteworthy Center of Excellence Hotel. The hotel staff were superb. Friendly, genuine, professional, courteous and most accommodating. The hotel service is second to none, and the food was well prepared and very satisfying. The hotel staff are absolutely the most kind and professional staff I have met in my world travels. They accept their responsibility with integrity and discharge it with great purpose. In short, a stellar staff. The laundry and dry cleaning service with many other amenities makes this hotel a Noteworthy Center of Excellence. I highly recommend it. Five stars! August 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff and Location - Needs a Refresh First off, stay here for the location, the staff, and the value. The people are top notch. I wanted for nothing. If you are in Manila on business, need a reasonably priced hotel but not giving up on the things that may international travel what it is...stay here. There was not a time when I picked up the phone or talked to someone in the hall that I didn't find a staff member ready with a smile, helpful service, and a willingness to assist. GREAT JOB by the management of the hotel to keep your people motivated and engaged and helping. Location and people...you have that going for you here BIG TIME! Now, the lobby looks great. The public areas are nice. Rip out the carpet in the halls and rooms, get out the paint brushes and make the rooms sparkle. It is an old hotel...emphasize that! I had real wood trim in my room. The bathroom was all wooden walls. Play it up! Get out the stain and varnish and make it shine! If the walls had been freshly painted and the moldings had the "wet look " that you get with old wood...new carpets...that room would have been spectacular! Emphasize what you have, use that cost effectively to make your hotel what it is...an older, classy property in a great location, and keep your people smiling and happy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We had to travel to airport at 5:30am but the breakfast only ready at 6am. Front desk was suggest to get us the take away breakfast set consist of sandwiches, muffin and cakes, apple, mineral water and fruit juice. Very good service. August 13, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very dated hotel The hotel needs a complete renovation. Everything has an old feeling but not in a good way. It looks like they try to touch it up (chips in furniture, bathroom counter, etc) but they can't keep putting make-up on an worn out place. The service from staff was great. Breakfast buffet was good although not great. Good fitness center that is open 24 hrs for hotel guests is a plus. There is just no reason to return until it gets a complete face-lift! The old dame has no more charm! August 12, 2015
