Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite 5 star The Intercontinental is tired. Compared to other capital cities' 5-star hotels this is lacking. We thought we had chosen the best the city could offer but is it? Whilst service was good (staff did their best to accommodate), we didn't feel we were in a 5-star establishment. We were in Adelaide for the (cancelled) Rolling Stones concert which, given Intercontinental's location should have been buzzing notwithstanding the cancellation. You wouldn't have known such a big event had been about to happen. We, in good faith, did not cancel and stayed 4 days. You'd have thought some token of acknowledgement? Hotel minuses: No beauty spa, no in-room safe, no magnifying mirror (standard these days). Come on Adelaide, lift your game, you're a capital city but struggling to act like one! Should we come back for the rescheduled concert, unsure whether we'd stay again. 27 March 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service needs attention Unfortunately I will have to remove this hotel from my preferred list. The hotel and the location are great. But attention to detail by staff and prompt correction of errors is poor. The last 2 stays have had room service errors on the main meal. With one forgotten altogether and the 2nd the wrong meal delivered. A failure is normal a chance to show how good you are by correcting it. 1) The forgot meal, reason just a delay in room service, 2hrs? 2) Wrong main meal. Took 50 min to then deliver the correct main , with cold side dishes. Being an Ambassador member with Gold status I thought service would be better, not worse. Regards Unhappy Guest 23 March 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good service, but stay not memorable Front of house service was exceptional (particularly when compared to the bar staff who were very average). The hotel hasn't really been upgraded since it opened in 1988 as Hyatt Regency Adelaide. The decor and finishes are tired and looking out of date. That said, the location is great. 21 March 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fringe Escape My partner and I have enjoyed many enjoyable stays at the Intercontinental in Adelaide and this time was no different. Apart from some issues around breakfast on our final morning, we were thrilled with the comfort of our king size room which afforded us a magnificent view over the River Torrens and emerging Adelaide Oval reconstruct. We are Priority Club members and have always been greeted with genuine enthusiasm and courtesy upon arrival, staff going to lengths to make us feel valued and at their disposal. 09 March 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice room Overall, our stay was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the room well appointed but the doors leading into the bathroom were noisy when opened. However, the public toilet facilities in the lobby were disappointing. When I entered them, I was greeted by toilet paper on the floor and unflushed toilets. Generally, not a good impression. The room and staff made up for that and it was quickly forgotten. Great stay and would certainly like to go again! 26 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff excellent, rooms need makeover Great service from all the staff, room decor and furnishings tired and in need of a makeover. We stayed in a suite, yet chipped paint on coffe making area and lamps. Bedside clock leftover from the 80's (iPod docking unit?) TV broken in bedroom but fixed immediately after notifying reception. Valet parking a bit rich ($40) as , limited parking in city apart from the underground car park, below the hotel that you can use independently for $26 o/night. Same place the valet driver will take your car.There seemed to be 10 valet drivers working constantly, all friendly and helpful. Overall good hotel but not quite on par with other International Intercontinental hotels 26 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent customer service We recently stayed with you during a convention & found the hotel provided excellent location & excellent customer service. I usually book rooms with a breakfast option but for some reason I was unable to do so from the website. However on checkin I was able to do this & get an upgrade. The rooms were very clean & well serviced although I must agree with other reviewers that my room at least would need a renovation in the not too distance future. Brilliant view & excellent club lounge. Having stayed in several other hotels in Adelaide over the past couple of years I will certainly be staying here for our next trip and would have no hesitation to recommend this property to any other travellers. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great friendly service in a quality surround Hi, We stayed at the Intercontinental recently both as a family and as a couple for a romantic night way. On both occasions the staff were beyond friendly, helpful and welcoming. The hotel is always exceptionally clean with quality fittings. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for old world quality in Adelaide and we often have recommended this hotel. The only thing I would recommend is somewhere to dock the ipod for music :) 25 February 2014

Really disappointed at check in to find Ambassador upgrade benefits changed without any notification and told at front counter was our fault . You almost lost me as Priority/Ambassador member for good. Your Guest relations Mgrs contact the next day saved the day.Your Club Room staff are a joy to visit .Returning in May hoping no problems this visit . 25 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff The staff at the Inter Adelaide were absolutely fantastic. I don't think I have stayed at another hotel chain where the staff have been so friendly, attentive, reliable & professional. From the moment we checked in until the moment we left we were so impressed. I could not recommend the Inter chain any more highly. Although the rooms were a little dated they were still clean & of high quality. The food at the breakfast buffet was great but as I said the staff alone would make me recommend the hotel. From the front desk, the cocktail staff, the buffet staff.....I could go on. Everyone one of your staff were fantastic. 17 February 2014

We found it hard to fault , the club room and staff were excellent and the breakfast and canapes were good. Location is spot on, the only thing i could say to be wary of, is the tiles in the swimming pool area were quite slippery when wet, so for the elderly and kids you may need to be cautious . Apart from that LOOK OUT MELBOURNE, ADELAIDE IS SNAPPING AT YOUR HEELS ! 13 February 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Be aware of asking fro breakfast in bed... I stayed last weekend at this property as I was working at the convention center. Unfortunately my son got sick on Saturday night and Decide to ask for breakfast in the room for My partner and son. I had My breakfast at the club room and when to work. I surprise as I requested to fix the bill at the end of the day... They charged $46 plus $6 for delivering two Eggs, 1 glass of juice and 3 little pieces of bakery... This is after we have paid club room with breakfast. Very disappointed with this hotel and I will certainly never stay again. 12 February 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Breakfast and Room coffee I think breakfast should have been included in the cost of the room. We paid separately and would say that the choice was limited at the breakfast buffet an was not really value for money. In the room, the coffee making facilities was not up to the mark. Milk was not available and so had to ring and get it. There was no chocolate drink available. It was either coffee or tea. 03 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Australia Day with Family in comfort We enjoyed spending Australia Day in the city, close to all of the action and even watched the fireworks close up from the hotel pool deck, it was stunning. All of the staff were very friendly and more than accommodating to our needs especially with our young child. Looking forward to our next stay 31 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Hotel is in a good location, close to station, shops, restaurants and park. Pool area was good but would be greatly enhanced with an outdoor bar. TV was in an awkward position in the room to watch from bed. There was also an unusual gap in the bathroom door - saloon style doors rather than a regular door. Just things that could be improved, but overall we had a lovely stay, and the staff were super friendly and helpful and would definately reccomend. 29 January 2014

The room was very nice & clean & in a good position in the building. The only negative was the restaurant was disappointing & the Japanese restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well-located, quality hotel Our second stay at Intercontinental Adelaide, and would happily return. We stayed on the Club level and enjoyed the complementary canapes and drinks each afternoon. The staff were helpful, mostly attentive and all pleasant. The hotel is well-located, allowing us to walk to nearby attractions and to collect a car rental from across the road. We visited Adelaide a week after record high temperatures and wonder if this contributed to sometimes too-cold airconditioning. Admittedly the spaces are 'big' and difficult to cool, but some days it was uncomfortably cool in the shared guest areas. Apart from this, our stay was most enjoyable. 25 January 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not to the usual standard Always stay here when in Adelaide usually about 3 to 4 times a year. The staff confusion with the bedding configuration, length of stay and number of rooms, was endless even though I had clarified it with an enquiry prior to arriving. A number of conversations with staff. But no one was listening. That's sad. Upon arrival the configuration and booking was still incorrect. Yes you were busy. Yes you forgot. Not the standard form the Intercontinental I'm use to. Was not just one person I dealt with but a several and each time I was assured they had it correct. I will stay there again as everyone deserves the chance to get it right and I hope service is back to the norm. Will say that the Valet Parking guys are SUPERB. a welcome sight after a long and not so good day. The right balance of professionalism encompassing courtesy, with a pleasant tone and manner. Always feel like they are wanting to help without being over the top. Well done again gentlemen. Looking forward to my next stay. 20 January 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best place in the Best place Excellent hotel for Special occations with everything on hand to make life easy and allow you to endulge in your reason for being there, like birthdays, annerversaries and tennis. The main reasons we were at the hotel this time. The Priority Club on the 21st is a marveolus way to relax and enjoy, in between your various arrangements arround town.
