Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place I spent two working weeks at the Intercontinental in Adelaide. On a visit that long you need something special; this was. In particular, the restaurant staff were brilliant and friendly. It is in a very convenient location and if you get the right rooms the views are stunning. Great place, great time. 13 December 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room is spacious This was my first time to ADL. The hotel building itself wasn't very impressive but the room size and comfortableness was very good. Staff was very friend while checking-in, answering my inquiries and checking-out. Free internet should be provided at least in the lobby though like most of the hotels do now. 07 December 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by More Training Required We stayed at the Intercontinental for the third time having enjoyed previous stays. We have been a member of the Priority Club for some years and decided to join the Ambassador Club which entitles guests to a guaranteed free upgrade on arrival. We did not receive an upgrade on our first stay and didn't realise this until we checked in a week later and received the same room type (I knew one of the two stays would be in a higher category room but had forgotten which stay). The young receptionist who assisted with my check in needs more training in customer service. I realise there are procedures hotels must follow but when it gets to the point that the hotel's first point of contact makes you feel extremely uncomfortable I wonder who is overseeing these people. Her smile was one of those "I'm only smiling because I have been taught the customer is right" type of smiles, she really had no idea what I was asking of her, there was no attempt to follow up on a rather simple question I had despite giving her the paperwork to substantiate my query and I can only presume the paperwork went in the bin when my back was turned as there was no followup from the Guest Relations Dept. Be very careful who you select to be at the forefront of your business ... this young lady should still be a trainee under constant supervision and at the very least know what to do when situations like this arise in the future. Shame she has let her team mates down in this instance. 02 December 2013

Offered Club floor for breakfast and pre dinner drinks cost of $80.00 thinking this was 2 nights as it was not explaned it was $80.00 each night. On check out questioned the charge to b told it was $80 per day disappointing. 28 November 2013

We were given the option to pay for a room upgrade and I was so glad we took it. Had a marvelous view in an exceptional room. We were even left a gift from the hotel for our special occasion. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great occasion helped by great service We booked a last minute indulgences package and were engaged on the night we stayed at the hotel. The room was great as always (previously stayed here when the hotel was the Hyatt). The included meal was delicious and filling, the free bottle of champagne top class. The value for money was amazing after taking account of the dinner and breakfast. A truly memorable night. 20 November 2013

When we can we choose to stay in a suite as we are self employed, with two little boys and we use this as a time to get away and spoil ourselves (which is at least once a year twice if we are lucky)!! Can not fault the hotel or the wonderful staff at all, this time though there were a few little things that needed attending too.. nothing drastic just wear and tear. Which I left as feedback at the hotel it self. But in saying this we are so happy with the Adelaide Intercontinental we have picked and booked it as our wedding destination in 2015! Looking forward to many more stays here :) 19 November 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Back again and just as good This was my second visit in a short while and I found everything as good as my previous visit. I love the club lounge. A key difference this time around was that the staff members made sure I had some vegetarian food. Most items contained meat and a polite inquiry led to two dishes being made for me. I appreciated this as I'd had a long day and the lounge is a great place to unwind. 18 November 2013

Best of all get a room with club lounge access so you can enjoy the evening drinks and snacks as well as a quick and easy breakfast service. It's worth it. 11 November 2013

Although slightly dated decor, it was large, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom was great with big fluffy towels and the toiletries were good quality. 07 November 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by looks very sad now! I came back to InterContinental Adelaide last week for a conference. It was an uneventful stay, here are some summaries: Positive points: * very good location, next to the convention centre, central station and major shopping areas in the city. Many restaurants and cafes are around as well, close to UniSA and Uni of Adelaide * good service all around. staff are great at all different part of the hotel, front desk, concierge, restaurant and really everyone * very comfortable bed and bathroom, free wifi for Platinum IHG member Negative points: * no welcome fruit, water or letter in the room. No acknowledgement for IHG Platinum member * hotel is really need some renovation. The shower head in my room is from 70s, serious it does not cost that much, come on just do some renovation * no staff at gym area, no spa or sauna, tiny little pool has no staff looking after the area... I had a not bad stay, but it is definitely not a 5 star hotel. 04 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Made to feel very special From the minute we walked in to the Intercontinental to celebrate our anniversay, we felt very special. The check in staff acknowledged our anniversary, the concierge were friendly and informative, the valet parking was fast and efficient. Room was bright, clean comfy and the pillows on the bed amazing. We visited the bar later in the night for a celebration drink and that was fun too. Breakfast was a long decadent affair that set us up for the whole day. We really enjoyed and could recommend completely.Thanks. 26 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by One night stay I stayed at the Intercontinental Adelaide for a one night stay,the room was good,the service good, whilst I did not worry about the cost for a one night stay,I was disappointed that this did not include breakfast,I couldn't believe it. The night I stayed I had a group of people join me for dinner and did not live up to expectations for the almost $1000 dinner bill. Small serves almost like "kids" meals for big dollars,however the service was very good. I also paid $40 for valet parking which at first was very good,however I soon found that they had moved my vehicle about 5-6 times during the course of the night.The next morning when I called down to check out and leave I also noticed that they had not only moved it again but had also managed to SCRATCH MY BRAND NEW HIGHLY HAND POLISHED CAR ! 23 September 2013

The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, sheets were crisp and bathroom was huge. Location was great, no taxis needed and breakfast buffet was fresh, varied and plentiful. We both had a well deserved rest and enjoyed staying at the Intercontinental. 22 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and Service We recently had our Honeymoon at Adelaide. Once again it is the staff that make the experience. All of the staff have a fantastic ability to engage without imposing and matched with the facilities make the Intercontinental experience 2nd to none. With the upcoming refurbishment, exterior views from the Club Room would be great. The facilities and staff there again are excellent. The concierge staff were great at recommending tours and providing contacts for them to be organised. We cannot wait to return to Adelaide in the future. 14 September 2013

Well positioned, good food, attentive and friendly staff, excellent rooms with great views make it the first choice for anyone wanting to spend some time in Adelaide.
