Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and Service We recently had our Honeymoon at Adelaide. Once again it is the staff that make the experience. All of the staff have a fantastic ability to engage without imposing and matched with the facilities make the Intercontinental experience 2nd to none. With the upcoming refurbishment, exterior views from the Club Room would be great. The facilities and staff there again are excellent. The concierge staff were great at recommending tours and providing contacts for them to be organised. We cannot wait to return to Adelaide in the future. 14 September 2013

Well positioned, good food, attentive and friendly staff, excellent rooms with great views make it the first choice for anyone wanting to spend some time in Adelaide. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Our worst hotel experience in a long time The hotel is almost devoid of staff, the food in the club lounge was below expectations with the cooked breakfast almost cold & the pastries stale. The lack of lunch dining is pathetic for a hotel that is listed as 5 star. We will look elsewhere in future. We have patronized this hotel for many years & this stay is easily the worst we have experienced. It is very sad to see, what was the best Japanese restaurant in South Australia can now only offer grilled prawns, seared salmon or salt & pepper squid. Blake's restaurant appears to have closed completely'. Many of the people we spoke to during this stay were similarly dissatisfied. There was not even a piece of fruit in the room on arrival & reception had to reminded that we require newspapers. 11 September 2013

My partner was returning from a 6 month deployment from Afghanistan & I booked the Memorable package for his return. We had previously done this 4 years earlier from another deployment, so it was a bit of a tradition! On my arrival I was greeted by friendly staff & on check-in was a little emotional when the reception staff asked if there was any special occasion? I proceeded to tell her about why I was there & how I was to collect my partner from the airport within the hour. She was very excited with my news & we chatted until I left for my room. Once I had returned from the airport we had not been long in our rooms when the door bell rung & I assumed it was my partner's luggage. I was very surprised to find a staff member with a complimentary bottle of wine & a card to "welcome Darron home". It was so special & such a touching gesture. The night only proceeded to get better when Darron proposed to me & I said "yes". The same staff member was on duty when we checked out so I thanked her for the wonderful surprise & told her our good news. I could not recommend the Intercontinental enough, we will certainly be back again!! 11 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful experience and would certainly return Recently my partner and I stayed for 4 nights, it was easily one of the best motels we have stayed for a long time. Every staff member was very friendly and professional, the restaurant food delicious and priced reasonable, and the lovely room overlooked the river. The location was very convenient especially being next to the Convention Centre. We hired a car and used the valet service and although we initially thought it was a little expensive per night the service provided was outstanding and great being able to walk out the front door and have our car waiting (the rate is per night so you can access as many times as you need) so we will do so again next time. The weather was also perfect when we were there, so overall a wonderful experience in Adelaide, thank you. 11 September 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Experience I have been an Ambassador member for a year now and I am surer than ever that I won't be renewing my membership due to the poor experiences I continue to have at the Intercontinental Adelaide. As part of my membership I receive a free room upgrade, As a result I booked a room that would give me access to the club lounge on guidance from staff (at my last stay# only to be told by the arrogant manager at the desk that my upgrade does not entitle me to that room and that I would be charged further fees to obtain that access #despite there being no additional tiers between the room I booked and the room I thought I would be upgraded too#. Once I got to my room, I noted that the surroundings were noisy #possibly the water system in the walls), the TV wasn't working and the shower head pressure was woeful. I was not happy with my stay and it has tarnished the way i view the brand for future. 21 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always a welcome experince There was no choice as to where I would stay during my short visit to Adelaide. It's a familiar, " welcome to the Intercontinental mam", upon arrival no matter the time you arrive. It felt like a nice warm blanket had been wrapped around me the moment I stepped out of my car on a winters day, after a "red eye" flight and a long arduous day dealing with family business. However the staff seem to get it. You want to be treated with respect. Offered a little courtesy and your patronage appreciated. I don't want people grovelling at my feet or I would cross the road. Staff seem to have a good balance between personable and professional boundaries. I complained about the tea at my last visit to be over the moon to find a new beautiful range waiting for me in my room. I know it's there for everyone but it made me feel special that you listened. Can't recommend your hotel and staff highly enough. It's a calm pleasant two way conversation with your staff. Not difficult or problematic. Just comfortable. Thank you. Especially to the valet parking guys, always happy, helpful and charming. First impression is hitting the mark. Well done. 21 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great stay we had a great time staff were fantastic room was great dinner was beautiful. but the buffa breakfast was not so great. we were seated at a table went to get our food . I put my plate down and when I came back people were sitting at our table and had got rid of my breakfast. we then had to find another table . there were other people with the same issue. one chap had to find a table three times. every time you got up people took your table. half were getting seated the other half were just walking in and sitting them selves. a simple reserved sign put on table when you were seated would have solved every bodys seating problems. this was the only downside to the hole experience . loved the stay. 19 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Welcoming staff and a wonderful hotel We have stayed here a couple of times now when we have had a function on in the city. Our stay was only for one night but was absolutely sensational. We were greeted by such a lovely staff member at the check in desk who made us feel instantly welcome. We booked the special that gave us a Superior King room with Valet Parking and Buffet Breakfast in the restaurant included in our stay - I hope we can get that deal again next time as it was such good value for money. Our room was lovely and clean and had plenty of room for the two of us for our night away. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but we did order some meals from the room service menu which were so yummy. But breakfast the next day was amazing! so much choice and it was all so fresh and lovely. I can't wait to go back just for the breakfast! (oh my goodness those pastries!! yum!) Again on our check out we were greeted with such friendly and lovely staff. Anytime we walked passed a staff member or came across a staff member in the lift they were so friendly and courteous - it made it so much more special. I guess if I had to pick a negative I would just say that the bed even though it was comfortable could have used a pillow top on the mattress, but that's just me being picky and being used to that at home :) It's certainly not a deal breaker and I can't wait to go back again! :) 18 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by large and gracious Ornate and spacious foyer. Room was reasonably nice, although the decor probably needs updating. View over the river was nice, and proximity to the river for nice walks is great. Gym is first rate for a hotel. Breakfast buffet was good, with some nice surprises. Opening room door with swipe card is a bit hit and miss - usually takes a few goes. Priority membership doesn't give access to special guest area - I think Ambassador membership is required. this is a negative. Getting a taxi out front was a hassle - I waited over 10minutes on a cold, wet, windy day - not pleasant. 12 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ABOVE AND BEYOND I recently spent the weekend in Adelaide and chose the Intercontinental Hotel because of its amazing location and the five star service. I wasn't disappointed on all levels. Great welcoming service from the minute I alighted my car at the entrance. Only a couple of minutes to walk to the Festival Theatre to see a show and then the luxury of a short return to the atmosphere of the cocktail bar to finish the night. Having an all day 'Club' facility is such a treat. After arriving and unpacking I didn't need to go far to have freshly brewed coffee and snacks. Also a great place for pre-dinner/show drinks. The staff were amazing and helpful after I had left and realised I had lost my mobile telephone. They were honestly concerned and went to all lengths to find it for me (dropped at the elevator). So relieved when I returned to collect it. I highly recommend this excellent facility to all who needs to feel special and pampered when staying in Adelaide. 12 August 2013

Upon arrival was greeted by friendly concierge team, lady at reception kindly offered a superior room as there was a disabled room booked. Was nice that he anticipated my needs, and fixed it up without it being an 'extra cost' or drama. Excellent location, the beds are very good quality, I find this varies from room to room. Pleasantly provided with a late check out as I had a late flight I found this a valuable part of my stay. I will always stay with intercontinental Adelaide because its like a second home. Nothing is ever a problem at Intercontinental Adelaide. 02 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rude staff I like to get away once a year, this time i really didnt enjoy my stay. There were no spa or sauna to use at all, the outdoor pool was freezing. I think the valet parking of $40 per day is too expensive. Certain staff are rude and condescending. Why would i have to deal with this and pay to be a Priority Privilege member. 01 August 2013

As I had recommended the project team stay at the Intercontinental, partly because the priority club discounted parking. My fault, I should have checked. In the current constrained travel budgets, I can not justify the additional parking costs when free parking can be had at similar properties. I also noted that the coffee and milk was not restocked during my last nights stay Disappointed 31 July 2013
